Under the Lights

Not directed at the players at all, I thought that both sides played with great intensity and fire. Rather, I was simply saying that it seemed that both offenses were very "vanilla" in what they were running. I don't know if that is just a general characteristic of the way these offenses are run, but I personally got the feeling that they were keeping a few things in their pocket for a potential matchup a month or so down the road.

I just wish that Coach Ray would come back and coach because he has probably forgotten more football than most of us have ever known. He is a great coach, and more importantly a great human being. Don't take pot shots.......your better than that.

Was not impressed with the play of HHS in this one. Their best offensive play seemed to be throwing the ball up into double coverage and letting Draper (sp?) go up and get it. The CovCath defenders seemed to have great position on the throws, but just didn't make a play. Kudos to Mr. Draper for doing just that. Honestly, I just expected more out of my first time seeing the Bluebirds this year. I got the feeling that both sides may have been "holding back" a little bit. Anyone else get that feeling?

I have not a dog in this fight, but I do have a few observations. 1. I have heard the complaints from other programs as well about the band playing during the game. I was under the impression that this was against the sportsmanship rules of the KHSAA. If I'm not mistaken was there not a big deal regarding this matter in the Highlands/Elder game a few years ago? Is it just an Ohio rule? Regardless of being in a rule, it is both tasteless and classless IMO...... 2. This would be the second week in a row that I have heard complaints from both sides regarding the officiating out at DHS. In particular the spots have seemed to be a hot-button issue. Did the same crew work this game as last weeks?
