Yeah, if it wasn't for Sage Powell holding Peterson he would have had a lot more yards. I was at the game tonight and if Holmes had more time to throw the ball they could have scored as much as they wanted. SK could not cover him. If SK doesn't do something about their corners it's going to be a long season. Also, as good as their O line looked last week I thought they looked just as bad tonight. Crane had some nice runs but he was getting hit in the backfield most of the night. Lawrence had a great game, both passing and running. Tressel, you are 100% correct about Lawrence being the key to SK's success this year. With Crane running and Lawrence running and throwing, SK will score a lot of points this year but their D has to shut down the passing to win games. I watched both preseason games and they have yet to cover receivers. They have their work cut out for them the next couple of weeks as I think Middletown and Dixie will air the ball out on them. And on a side note, Peterson is the real deal for Holmes. He had a monster night in a losing effort against a pretty good football team.

I wouldn't put UK in with the rest of the SK fans. Most SK fans know this will be a tough year and it will be a battle all year in nky 6A.

Who are you listening too? I wish you would actually come out and watch a few football games instead of looking up stats online and listening to anyone with an opinion.

Just got back from the game. SK looked good overall. 10-6 SK at half time. SK scored twice in the 3rd quarter to make it 24-6 and then both teams put in their JV teams. Very impressed with Crane running the ball. He had around 100 yards rushing in the first half. Austin Baldwin was a stud on D. Chad Lawrence threw the ball really well tonight although he didn't play til the 3rd quarter. Not sure why? D needs a little work at the corners and saftey as they let receivers get behind them several times. O line looked a lot better than they did a few weeks ago.

My guess is 9-1 with a split with Highlands

SK needs to stay focused on NKy right now. I watched them practice the other day and their D looked great but their offense struggled. Their backs were getting hit in the backfield almost every play and Chad was running for his life. It's hard to complete passes when you don't have time to throw. I think they will get it figured out but I also think it's going to take time. Hopefully they get it corrected before the start of the season.

SK will go as far as their line will take them. If you look at their roster they are loaded at the skill positions. Pretty much like their freshman team that went undefeated. This is not the freshman level and you cannot win without a good line on both sides of the ball.

Maybe he'll stay healthy if he concentrates on defense? Heard he tried to come back way too early for the type of injury he had?

I have to disagree with this being called a fumble 10% of the time. It was a fumble and was called that way by the official. What I don't understand is why it was over ruled? I had a great view from my sofa at home!!! and I never miss a call from that sofa. :laugh:
