Hey guys nice field you have up there in NKY, hope Owensboro can make a visit up before my son graduates. Since he is a freshman we have 3 years. Boone had a nice field as well when we came up this year. How many does it hold in the stands? I think tis would be a good start for everyone to put up pics of their stadiums to share with everyone. I tell you the stadium that Hoptown and Christian Co. share is very nice too. Well and of Course the Dungeon in Owensboro is awesome now with the new turf installed last year.

I really do not think Bowling Green is overlooking us at all. I think we even have the respect of their fans that is for sure. The only people really overloking anything are up North where their name is already on the trophy to some of their fans I do not think their players think that though. Owensboro's Defense has gotten scary better the last few games if that is possible the Offense needs a little help and cut down on turnovers. If the offense plays like last week we will be in trouble because BG will put a few points up and we can not rely on the D to win every game.

Jeb nice win for those boys I am telling you. Good Luck against the GIANT because they wil be a very very very tough out for sure. But you never know maybe there will be a flu epidemic at X this week and they will not have enough to play. LOL I sure wouldn't want to play them that is for sure.

OK first off I just want to say that scores do not mean anything but for comparison purposes I want to bring into point that Owensboro and Bowling Green have no common opponents but Owensboro and Highlands do that being Hoptown both teams played them at home Highlands beat them 42-8 and Owensboro beat them 34-0. Both teams beat Hoptown by 34 points showing that both teams can score on teams Highlands gave up 8 points don't know how but did Owensboro's defense gave up a big fat goose egg. What does this mean well Owensboro can definately hold any team in check Highlands probably can too and probably gave up the 8 points with their JV team in the game. All being said it is good that you love your team and if I had gone there or lived there I may root for them too but if you look at the teams left in the playoffs I could probably make a gripe for all of them and in all right because the 4 teams left have been at the top of the rankings all year with the exception of John Hardin that could still be left had they not had to play BG last week. How good would that final 4 been. I would say too that the JH BG game could have went the other way as well looking at the updates posted. So with that said root for your team but give the other teams the respect they deserve. OK here is my gut feeling Highlands will probably win it all and probably should, they will probably end up playing BG but very easily could play Owensboro and that mean and speedy defense. Lincoln Co. I do not know much about but must be pretty good to have made it this far with only one lose. I will also say that I can also see BG and Owensbro winning it all as well and if either of those teams play anyone other than Highlands at the pizza house I would be surprised. Did I cover it all? IF not let me know what I missed and I will update my post. :lol: Remember I am not knocking any of these teams because they are all good in their own right and any of them have an even chance of winning until the game has actually been played.

If Bowling Green puts 38 points up on Owensboro then the Highland fans should be leary the following week. Owensboro has given up more than 10 points only twice all year and one of those was the 21 to Meade in which Meade scored on a pick late in the game so Actually the D only game up 14 in that game. I am not going to call this at all I love my Devils and I have great respect for good football teams and regardless how this one turns out I will be proud of the way the Big O has played all year. Good Luck Purples and by the way just drove by the stadium on my way home and I think I saw some swirling ghosts flying around above the stadium getting ready for Friday night. :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I want to go ahead and make another prediction....Highland fans will trash talk and think nobody can beat them want to play Bowling Green but won't and will have to wait another year to see #17 hoisted by anyone in a blue and white uniform. I really like people that think their team is so good that they are going to run all over everybody kind of like LSU fans this year and well they are watching someone else play for the title. If you do get to play Bowling Green you will still have to wait another year for #17!!! :fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire: There are 2 other teams playing in this thing and I am sure glad they have already lost so I will not have to waste my money.

Well you saw what John Hardin did to BG tonight. Closest game the purples have had all year besides the lose to Trinity and Owensboro's D is probably better than JH. The offense does need to step it up but if the Defense can give you a score or 2 like they have so many times this year the Devils will be in the game. I look forward to playing the best 2 teams in 5A if we can get past Bowling Green. I think the D has had a chip on its shouder all year and really play like it. So all the people that have said all along the finals will be BG and Highlands just might see that not happen. This game had the potential for blowout in the beginning OHS went up 14-0 and had the ball on the Oldham 20 when the first fumble occured and Oldham took advantage and made it the final score 14-6 had Oldham Co. just kicked FGs a few times they may have had a chance in this one going for it on 4th down several times when in FG range and the Owensboro D stuffed them on 4th and short. The Oldham kid only attempted one XP and missed it could not tell if it was partcially blocked or if it was a just a bad kick from where I was but I was told someone got a finger on it. Oldham did a good job after the first few series and played a heck of a game but like I said could have possibly won if they just kicked FGs. These Owensboro kids are pumped and ready to take on all challengers. Regardless of the outcome in the next week or 2 I think these kids should be proud of where they are and how well they have played all year up to this point.:devil:

PurpleHaze hope to see you guys next Friday night. We will be tailgating by the main gate and hope to meet up. RADIO GUY will be in the pressbox and on the radio and this game will have the makings of another one of those great BG OHS grinders played with a ton of emotion :fight: and the fans will be ready for the big showdown on both sides. By the way automatic max is 82 of 83 WOW! that is impressive. We do not put up many points and have gone for 2 several times but my freshman kicking son is 34 of 35 on the season and maybe when MAX graduates he can transfer the automatic name to the OHS kid. My son also had a cracked shin bone and was out for a little bit or he would have a few more points as well. He was named 2nd team all area kicker this year behind Muhlenburg South's JR kicker that had 18 total points on the year, but that is OK gives him a little motivation for next year for sure. I hope we get the chance to show that we can play with anybody. Owensboro has a ton of defensive talent and speed on D. You can win a game with 1 TD if the other team can not move the ball. Good Luck to Highlands as if they need it. Play the lower teir and let 2 3 and 4 eliminate each other so you only have to play one of them. If you spank everybody I wil eat crow but right now I am not buying it until you win!

Well I tell you what if Meade comes to play like they did the night the Red Devils walked into the stadium they can beat anybody well maybe everybody except St. X because half of college football and even some pro teams are not that good but with that said Meade Co. will bring it on D they were impressive against us and since that game Owensboro has made wholesale changes most yet to be seen. Now I wish I could be in 3 places at once (our game, BG vs JH and Meade vs. Male) I think this game may be too close to call so I will not predict a score but Good Luck JEB and congrats on a very nice season regardless win or lose this week.:devil:

I will predict that BG wins it 138-136 in 15 OTs and that this game will be so draining that they will see the effects the following week with Owensboro pulling off the win to go to Papa John's. LOL Just kidding! I wish I could be at 2 places at once because this has the potential to be a really good game as will next weeks game if the Red Devils beat Oldham Co. could setup and renew the old time rivalry between the Purples and the Red Devils. It must be nice for Highlands to have #2,#3 and #4 in the opposite end of the bracket beating each other up. I just hope whoever comes out of our side of the bracket goes on to win it all regardless of who it is. BG JH or OHS. I will say BG will win this game but it could be close. Well this could be one of those trap games with the winner of BG and John Hardin the next week in Owensboro if they win but I think the Red Devils will take nobody for granted and roll in this one by 20+ Red Devils 31-7 in this one.

Yep Final but I would like to add the Banks kid for CC is going to a real stud in the next 2 years he was awesome tonight against a really good defense but late in the game he got laid out on a screen pass and did not even see the hit coming. I just wanted to say I am going to hate to play that kid the next 2 years.

Owensboro Playing at home will be a big advantage and Hoptown put up 38 on CC without their RB and QB so I will say this game should go to Owensboro by at least 14.:fire:

That is awesome sounds pretty darn good to me. I am glad there are so many options for kickers now. Used to you were on your own. My son went to kicking.com camp also attended Kohl's kicking in St. Louis and made the finals at the camp against a College Freshman they were kicking accuracy but not distance they kept moving away toward the sidelines and kicking at angles and after about 5 or 6 tries my son hit the goal post and lost. The camps have really been good for him. He also works with Dan Lundy of oneonone kicking (former kicker for the U in Miami) and he also worked with Art Carmody from the University of Louisville. The kicking game sure has advanced in the last few years and I am glad to see that kickers are finally getting talked about some. I wish I could see Bell's kid kick. I just hope when my son is a Senior he will be the one being talked about.

I will say Owensboro by 50+!!! The regular season game was 56-0 with a continuous clock in the 2nd half and the Freshman team playing most of that. With no freshman for Owensboro even dressing might make for a long night for Ohio Co.

The Ray Guy camp is a good camp but there are other camps as well across the country that some kids choose to go to. There is the kicking expo in Miami FL. and also the combine series with the finals in California this year that the results are listed on scout.com and rivals.com. So there are several and my son is a Freshman kicker for Owensboro High school where he is #2 on the team in scoring. Perfect on FG missed one XP in a 56-0 win but they do not score 60+ points a game like some of the other teams mentioned so his stats will not be as inflated by the huge blowouts. My son attended the combine series regional this year and will be going to California for the finals of the competition and it is put on by a few former NFL kickers (the finals are for the top 10 in each graduating class). Also the kicking EXPO in Miami in January is also a nice competition. When you get to college as well you will have 3 kicking specialists usually a kickoff kicker a FG kicker and a punter look at Louisville Carmody is the best in the game and he never kicks off just puts it through the uprights. So I just wanted to give the kickers a few extra options rather than Ray Guy's camps because there are several options out there. Good Luck to all in the playoffs and for those kickers interested check out all of your options because these 2 camps as well help promote you to all the colleges if you have the potential and for those of us that do not play for the big majors in KY you have to go to the camps to be seen.

Man I hope you guys keep thinking that about receivers in the state because I know of a few that would prove you wrong in a heartbeat. Plus a defense that can shutdown any running game just ask Cory Farris how many times he broke anything against that D and last I checked he is the #1 RB in the state. They only scored 3 points if that tells you anything.

I saw that some has Anderson Co. of course I am going to pick Owensboro BG Highlands Lincoln Co. But does anyone know much about Anderson Co.? All I know is their scores some really close games but I know nothing about them. Are they a running team a passing team or what? Purple they will also have to come to the Dungeon and we all know that is not the easiest place to play. Also I can see John Hardin coming thru with an upset though a very slight chance against the Purples. BG is good no doubt about it. Owensboro has one of the best defenses in the state that will keep them in any game along with a few surprises for the playoffs. Highlands by far is the team to beat always totally loaded with a bunch of D1 players and could be the next Hoover High. (joke) But it is going to be a battle on the top side to see who gets to play Highlands at Papa John's and there are 4 teams really vying for the spot, OWENSBORO, BOWLING GREEN, JOHN HARDIN, and ANDERSON CO. and all roads to Papa John's go thru the Big O as long as they are winning. You can say that one again Purplehaze the purples sure have a potential back to back weeks against John Hardin and then Owensboro if they survive that one. If I am not mistaken if BG and OHS meet it will be at Rash stadium which would make it even a tougher game.
