Any status on the Johnston kid from OHS? Haven't heard anything just wondering if anyone knew if he is going to be able to go this week.

I have to go with my alma mater in the Eagles but the Aces are getting better. They have played Evansville Reitz #3 in Indiana and Owensboro #5 in KY 5A and South Spencer who is always pretty good in IN. They lost to Reitz 40-6 and Owensboro 24-6 and beat South Spencer though I can not remember the score. Catholic can make it a game if they can stop a team on 3rd down, every time they had Owensboro 3rd and long the Devils came up big and never punted in the game. I will say the Eagles will win this game though by 14 but Catholic will be good in their district this year that is for sure.

Good point westsider but Apollo has yet to play anyone in town well until Friday night when they play the Aces. We will see how it plays out. I was at the Henderson game and I would say the ejection will hold up. I also heard another rumor that his brother got into some trouble as well and may not play Friday night, but this is a rumor not confirmed. Also DC's kicker suffered a broken coller bone in the Henderson game and is out as well but they had someone else kick after that not sure who that was but he did hit an extra point. My prediction is that the Lanham kid will learn alot from this game as he has yet to face a defense this good yet so we will see what he is made of. I look for the Devils to win but it might be closer than anyone thinks definately less than 10 and if it comes down to the kicking game to win the game I give the advantage to the freshman from Owensboro.

The only Mr Football that I saw play in high school was Mark Higgs well and Travis Atwell and I would like to throw in a vote for Higgs he was dominant in the 80's and was also dominant on a poor UK team and also had a very nice NFL career. I can remember the game where he was about to be tackled for a lose and shook the guy off and left his cleat behind and continued to run it back 90+ yards with one shoe on. All I have read Michael Bush was spectacular if you go to the top stats in the state history he is listed in almost every category but kicking. All the guys that are listed were all very good in their time. But you have to take into consideration where they cam from who they played if some of these guys played for Louisville Trinity they may even have better stats. The biggest school from the biggest town in KY I would say they will win 8 of the next 10 6A titles because that is the way it is. Brohm is very good too but you can not throw in state titles for a team that should win a state title every year they play. It would be like Applachian St. playing Michigan I know they won but if you played that game 99 more times how many do they win EXACTLY!! Maybe this should be a poll on Mr Football by position because you can not really argue a QB vs a RB.

I saw some of the varisty players at the freshman game last night and Neil still looked like he was favoring his knee some. I was told that he will be out this week but will be back for the Daviess County game. I still feel Owensboro with Johnston and Duncan out still will be good enough to beat CC. With Rob Durham back to full strength that will be a boost and Owensboro has speed on the bench to make up for Duncan for one game. This truly will be the biggest test for the Red Devils in their district this year. Owensboro Freshman beat Christian County freshman 41-0 with the 2nd string playing most of the 2nd half. The score was 27-0 at the end of one. Also weather may be a factor for the game on Saturday night with rain in the forcast this may be a turnover fest if it was to be like that, and may be a low scoring affair. I will predict that Owensboro will win the game 16-7 with 3 field goals and a TD.
