This one is Saturday at the Stadium of Champions. Should determine first place in the district. Devils win in the final minute.

Owensboro has some running issues at times. If Johnston is able to play it will help both sides of the ball. If it comes down to defense the edge to Owensboro. Owensboro 21-14.

Owensboro defense is one of the best I have seen. Offense lacks a burner in the backfield (like years past). Word is Johnston is out for this game (injury) and Duncan serving one game suspension for being ejected against Catholic. Both of these players play both ways for Owensboro. Christian County by 10.

Christian County has some solid athletes and an explosive game. CC by 6

This is definatly the biggest game for OHS this early in the season. Lose, and you could possibly be giving up home field advantage in the playoffs. Owensboro will be shorthanded with an injured Neil Johnston and a suspended Wayne Duncan. Both play offense and defense(although Neil should just be relegated to D when he comes back...too valuable there). Wayne is a true speedster and will be greatly missed as well. OHS' offensive line will need to step it up big in this game. The Red Devils are going to have to find a way to start being more efficient on the offensive side of the ball. One way is to stop turning the ball over in the "red zone". I look for OHS' D to keep Christian Co. at bay, but OHS' "O" is gonna have to come up for the Red Devils to get a key district win on the road.

OHS 24

Christian County 7

MOR, I haven't heard about Neil coming back this early. I was under the impression he was out 5-6 weeks? Is this true?

:fire:

Wrong, Johnston will be suited up and playing. Owensboro by 6.

Thats a shock. I understood him to be out.

Johnston will be back next week. The injury to his knee wasn't as bad as it looked last Friday night. Actually, he could have played this week, but they thought that another week would put him at 100% for next week's game against Daviess County. This is what I hear from a good source. With Johnston and Duncan out, two play-makers, we'll see where this football team is now. Christian County is a good football team and playing at home, it's going to be hard for the Devils to come out with a win, but with that said I still say they will win by 6.

I saw some of the varisty players at the freshman game last night and Neil still looked like he was favoring his knee some. I was told that he will be out this week but will be back for the Daviess County game. I still feel Owensboro with Johnston and Duncan out still will be good enough to beat CC. With Rob Durham back to full strength that will be a boost and Owensboro has speed on the bench to make up for Duncan for one game. This truly will be the biggest test for the Red Devils in their district this year. Owensboro Freshman beat Christian County freshman 41-0 with the 2nd string playing most of the 2nd half. The score was 27-0 at the end of one. Also weather may be a factor for the game on Saturday night with rain in the forcast this may be a turnover fest if it was to be like that, and may be a low scoring affair. I will predict that Owensboro will win the game 16-7 with 3 field goals and a TD.

With the kicker Owensboro has 3 field goals is a possibility as he has technique, distance and form. I predict good things in the next 4 years for him.
