From what I saw during the summer while watching under 471 and from what I have seen thus far this season, Bellevue is one the best conditioned teams in NKy. I have known Coach Eckstein for at least 15 yrs and the trade mark of all of his teams have been their conditioning. If this game is close and conditioning becomes a factor Bellevue will definitely win.

The schedule down at Gilligan field had Bellevue playing Ludlow Thursday night, but papa22320 is right, Bellevue has some great numbers this year and if you have been to a game you can see that by how many kids are dressed. However, I am not sure that many of the JV'ers play on Friday nights, unless it is a blowout win! approximately 59 hrs to kickoff..........

As always this will be a hard fought game. Both teams will come out pumped up and ready to play, let's just hope there aren't any crazy penalties in this game. I just the combo of Buckler and Barrett, along with Wills and Hegge will be too much for Dayton's Defense to handle.

Alright, its time to get this one started. This is one of the best rivalries in the state. The Battle for the Paddle takes place friday night!!!! The game really turned in to a game of total domination by Bellevue's first team. All 22 points came while the Tigers JV squad was in and Bracken kept their starters in (not a real smart move by that coach). Wills, Buckler, Barrett, and Hegge were the stars for the Bellevue offense.

At one point I believe Bracken was in the same district with Bellevue, then with realignment (addition of Brossart), Bracken moved out of the district. However, I know that teams usually sign a contract to play for two years. The rumor around town is that this is the last year the Polar Bears play the Tigers

I know he didn't shake hands last week with the Bellevue coaches....that was noticeable from the stands. As the teams were meeting at midfield shaking hands, the rest of Brossarts staff was out their, but the Head Coach was standing on the sidelines with his arms crossed. Not a very good message to send to his kids. Maybe he should join in the sprints with his kids!!:lol:

I just think Brossart made a terrible mistake in hiring the current coach, plus the atmosphere on the staff doesn't seem much better either. I just feel it is absolutely ridiculous to make the players even more embarrassed by running sprints after the game. It's not the players fault they are being out-coached by leaps and bounds

For what I have seen on here Walton is undefeated and Bellevue is 4-1. I am unsure about the other teams records. Is there a championship game for this league?

I have seen the Lyvers kid play a few times and boy can he hit! I would say that he is one of the best LB's in 1A

I would have to agree with you poet! I just think it was a terrible mistake to hire a middle school coach for a varsity job. The team would be better with Coach Ollier. My neighbor that is on the team said that Brossarts head coach in fact did not shake hands...that's a terrible message to send to your kids. I was in leaving this game and saw Brossart running sprints:rolleyes: Why would the coaches do this. Even though the team was out manned they did play as well as they could.....that just adds to the embarrassment of losing by 56. The coaching staff may want to consider changing this policy

Sounds like a well played game, that just makes for a long bus trip home for Dayton after losing a close game. I think the Devils might be rolling into Bellevue 0-6.

Don't know much about either team, other than the are both ranked in the top 5 in Class 1A....So I expect a big game in this one. I am going to go with LCA, I saw these guys play last year in the state final and I haven't seen Raceland play. LCA 33 Rams 29

What was meant by this was the Tigers have sang the fight song 3x's already this year and one week without....so I think that means another week which would 4 weeks of singing the fight song, but thanks for playing:thumb:

Although he isn't "young" in age per se, but in years of coaching, I think Bellevue's D Coordinator...I think his name is Dave Pelgen(?), he has been doing a great job with the defensive down there. He could probably get a head coaching position if he so desired
