There were actually alot of Boone students there but not sitting in one big cohesive group. The Boone County fans are very proud of both of the teams advancing to state! It would be nice for one day that the rest Northern of Ky could just be excited for this school instead of putting something negative about them on the same day both teams advance to the sweet 16. These kids are never given any credit on here. The students at this school are a wonderful group of kids! GO REBELS!! Bring back the win for Northern Ky!

I think most of us are happy for the players and the teams but shouldn't the student body of Boone County HS be more supportive and bigger for a school the size of Boone County with close to 1,600 students! Even if a quarter of the students attended, there would be 400 students cheering on the Rebels.

A lot of high school kids work part time jobs, mostly on the weekends. The games are expensive for high school kids, plus many of them don't have transportation there. I saw a lot of students there, but they were spread out. As a matter of fact, at the beginning of the girls' game there were a bunch of students sitting together at one end, and they had to move.

Wow...I thought when Highlands played Boon Co in a Saturday afternoon game and there was a smattering of fans there for Boone Co it was just because it was a regular season game on a Sat afternoon. Sounds like they doubled that amount today.

So explain to me why the Boone County students will come to Rupp in droves? Do you think it is because they can get off school (Boone County will play at 1:30 pm 3/15 Thursday) or is it because they all of a sudden care about their fellow classmates? You tell me!

Times for the boys games were never affected. I was at the semis Sat. Cooper was very well represented. Lloyd, yes Lloyd and NCC were well represented. Boone was a no show. No excuses...

I guess kids from other high schools didn't have to work? They showed up to support their teams over the weekend. Not buying the excuses Hard for me to root for them down state when their own students don't root for them ( but I still will). Great team and great players. It's a shame the student body does not give them the respect the deserve. Good luck down state!

I'm interested in what "line" is about to be crossed. I'm not trying to bring down Boone Co. here. I'm happy for them boys, they worked hard and deserve this. So, to be clear, I'm not trying to down grade what happened for the Boone Co. community here. For the record, I'd be curious if the samething happened for any other school. From the outside looking in, it would appear that there is a disconnect between Boone Co. Athletics and the Boone Co. student body. Maybe the PA announcer at school forgot to remind them on friday that the boys would be playing in the Regional Semis (that's my theory).

While what you saying is true about Florence (and that is why I have been saying for a while now, that Florence is going to be the New Covington), there are a lot of students who live in Oakbrook or along Pleasant Valley Road who attend Boone County and they are far from poor!

 

I'm in that area everyday for the last 15 years, NOBODY poor in that part of town, except maybe "house poor".:lol:
