Kentucky 74 Florida 59

Featured Replies

The Wildcats finish a perfect 16-0 in the SEC. The game was 46-44 UK at one point as Florida utilized the transition game to get a horde of easy baskets, but UK then scored 8 straight to push the lead back out and cruised from there.

The loss pushed Florida down to the #4 seed and bumped Tennessee and Vanderbilt up to #2 and #3 respectively. The new format was good to the former SEC East.

UK will play the winner of LSU and Arkansas in the SEC quarters, and then with a win there would face either Florida, Alabama, or South Carolina.

Just imagine if Kentucky had played more out of conference road games. They could have finished much better than 30-1 and 16-0 in the SEC.... Hey, wait a minute...

Any idea what time UK's first game will be?

Honestly, the championship is the only time I can see that happening, and only against Vanderbilt. I just don't think that there's another team in the SEC that can beat them on a neutral floor. And if they lost in the final, well, no skin off my nose. Clearly after last year we see that the SEC final doesn't mean a thing.

I'll take a repeat of 1996. Lose 1 game during the regular season, a loss in the SEC Championship game, and then 6 straight wins to finish the season.

Sounds like they should have played one less to me.

Good seeing the old O-Dome. Better seeing Kentucky handle the Gators, there.

The game was pleasing for me on three accounts. One, Kentucky won. Two, they beat the Gators. Finally, for those that don't know and probably don't care, the O'Connell Center and the USF Sun Dome were identical buildings. The Sun Dome is currently undergoing renovations, more on the lines of what they are going to do to Rupp Area, so the two Domes will no longer look the same inside. Today was a look back to a place where, up until this season, I've been watching college basketball games for close to 30 years. Gave me a nostalgic feeling I wasn't expecting.

Fantastic season so far. Keep it going CATS!!!!!

I don't think that there's a team in the SEC capable of beating them other than Vandy either.

I just heard on the post game radio show that this is the first UK basketball team to win 30 games in the regular season...

Just think, a last second three pointer is all that stands in the way of a perfect regular season..
