Overall, I'm cool with calling them out.

However, the "drugs" comment seems to a bit much. Did he indict all of them with that blanket comment?

I think he probably gave the correct message but in the wrong setting. Not sure it's smart to hammer your players in a press conference.

Still listening. He later says "it's not like they're bad kids." Really? You throw out a blanket "drug problem" statement and then you say that? Not cool.

He don't need to be coaching at the D-1 level, IMO.

I was cool with him calling them out, but he didn't have to give examples or he could have said "behavioral issues." I thought some of the stuff he said was right on such as (and I may be paraphrasing) "that's the problem with our society, kids are coddled these days, they have to learn to be accountable and kids aren't learning accountability" I think the statement for the most part is dead on, but I don't think it is all kids. There are still many good parents and teachers for that matter that are teaching accountability.

No problem with it. Maybe wrong place and time. But no problem with calling them out.

Sounds to me like he knows more about it than anyone else and has had enough. Absolutely no problem with it at all. Wonder how many of those seniors will graduate?

Clyde that is the only comment I heard in the whole speech that I would take exception to...the drug mention..now I must be fair and say I have met Coach Knight, his Dad and Mom Nancy too, so I admit to being biased, as I like them personally.

For me, I thought a much more humiliating situation was Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly's rants on the sidelines this year. Not trying to drag him under the bus, but the language that was clearly visible from the leader of that club and for all that they stand for was unbelieveable.

Because of things he said in a press conference?

So you're a parent of a senior player on Lamar who is never in trouble and clean from drugs. Coach says "this senior class" has issues and mentions "drugs."

You're more upset with Coach Kelly for using bad language against your boy that Coach K for lumping you in with others who have "drug" issues?

Apple doesn't far fall from the tree. Praise in public, punish in private. I have no issue in challenging Senior to be leaders and motivators, but to fling stuff like this in the open is not a characteristic of leadership that a Head Coach should provide.

He is bashing the seniors and talking about their poor shooting...but who kept them in the game?

^ I agree. Punish in private, to go on a rant about off the court issues such as drug use? If he wants to complain about their play, then fine. But the talking about off the court issues was over the line, I am guessing all players on that team has drug issues? He just lumped them in together
