No, if the move was made for legimate reasons, not just because the dad got mad at the coaching staff & moved.

Put it this way- How would you feel is you spent the whole year as a varsity wrestler, ready to go to state and Luke Metzker or Brad Cooper moved in a week before district and took your spot? Remember they started the season at Henry Clay or Simon Kenton, got mad at their coaches & moved to Larue for wrestling purposes only.

It's one thing for those boys to move in and compete all season, it's another for them to move in a week before region and take someone's job. Yes, they are studs, but what message is being sent to the Campbell County team. Hard work & dedication mean less then another team championship.

My only question: what would Coach B do if the Myers moved in & to job they were going to take was his sons?

I never wrestled but a very good friend was a multiple state champ. I seem to remember you having to wrestle for your job each week so that part doesn't bother me.

Just like every successful team they had wrestle offs. The older Myers boy won the wrestle off vs. the 152. This made him (Myers) the 152. Now the old 152 kid got to wrestle off the 160 and he lost. Very simple.

 

This is a lose lose situation in my opinion for Coach Bankemper. If he does not allow the Myers boys to wrestle he would probably would be questioned on why he did not let them on the team and people would say, it is not the kids fault but the dad's fault. Now he lets them on the team and some people want to bad mouth him. He did what he thought was right for the kids, not just 1 kid but ALL of the kids (including the TEAM).

 

Here is my 2 cents on this matter and like I said it in my previous post, everyone was happy when the older Myers boy was going to go at 145. No one really saw a problem with this but now the Myers boy takes the spot of the 152 and a lot of people are bad mouthing Coach Bankemper. People can't have it both ways. Also, why is not everyone up in arms about the 215 losing his spot by the younger Myers boy? There were 2 spots that the Myers boys earned not just 1. It would also be interesting if the old 152 had beaten the current 160, then what would have this said parent said? Would he still be so upset?

They did qualify for their matches wrestling at Grant.

I guarantee that our high school basketball coach wouldn't let 2 top 25 kids join the team late in the year.
