On a side note and I know you will disagree but the halftime show was dreadful. The production was solid but Madonna? Uh, no.

Longest play from scrimmage was 38 yards, and the next longest was 24 yards. The chess match at the end of the game was weirdly played out, and quite frankly boring (I guess Belichick changed his mind after the first timeout?). 4 touchdowns scored, 3 of which were in my opinion, legitimate. Those are the three main reasons it just wasn't anything to write home about.

 

I'm about as big of a fan of the NFL as anyone. I pull for no particular team. I can DVR a game (especially a championship game) and easily re-watch it a few days later. Not a chance I would pencil in a time to watch that game. Maybe some on here would, but not me. Guess I need to find another sport to watch, though.

True. Not many big plays. I guess it is just what flavor you like. I think some of the best baseball games are the 1-0 or 2-1 games. When you have low scoring close games, every play becomes more significant.

Different sports. Baseball is defined as America's greatest pastime for its intricacies. FWIW, I wholeheartedly agree with you on the baseball front. But also, I doubt anyone would say in a post-game thread after a regular season match-up between these two teams with the exact same game played out, "Wow what a game!" I think the situation and score-line gives the illusion of a superb game. That's just my take, though.

There's always going to be someone who didn't enjoy the game. It was close with a few lead changes and drama at the end. What's not to like?

I thought it was a pretty dull game. Don't like either team. Feel like it Gronk was healthy the Pats win. This game pretty much summed up the season. More like the best team lost the game more than the other won it. Much like Balt etc. Welker especially+maybe even Branch catch the ball + it's game over. Bradshaw's greed about cost his team the Super Bowl. Not a big Eli fan but happy for him. No doubting he is clutch in the 4th!! Nicks is a top 10 WR if he can ever stay healthy a full season.

The Pats were a pain because of their 2 stud TE's then Welker in the slot. Gronk this season is as good as any TE in history. Him being out was HUGE!!! I think Brady cost NE this game more than anything. I feel like BGE would have had a good game NY had the ball almost the whole 1st quarter. That killed the Pats running game + play action. Dumb safety by Brady. Cardinal rules for QB are don't throw over middle late+don't throw across your body. Gronk had his guy smoked. Brady threw late over the middle across his body+ unerthrew him for the int. Those two plays were the game changers.

IMO the Patriots lost the game by getting conservative in the last 5-6 minutes of the game. Leading by two with the ball, and they stopped attacking?? They had moved the ball well through the short passing game, and got too in love with the run to try & milk time, and then couldn't convert the first down when they had to. If they keep trying to score vs. milking clock; they win the big game? Crazy game with a few key breaks going NY's way--Agree with Clyde that it wasn't a very entertaining game, considering the type QB's & offenses in the game. Hoodie needs a new "O" coordinator IMO? If I had to point to a couple points of difference, I'd say play calling in critical situations, receivers, and a couple "not lost" fumbles by NY.
