January 18, 201214 yr Darth Hoodie got Caldwell fired.....heck he got both Polians fired as well. Brady goes down, the Pats go 11-5....Peyton goes down, the Colts go 2-14.......end of story. And I'm glad. Very good points.
January 18, 201214 yr Didn't the Colts lose Sorgi for the season also? I'd imagine the Pats, Saints, Giants and Packers would all be less thanstellarif they lost their franchise quarterbacks for the season AND the one backup who knows the system. Caldwell was 24-8 with Peyton, didn't Caldwell coach the team that lost to the Saints in the Super Bowl, and he loses Peyton and Sorgi and goes 2-14 and gets canned? Just doesn't seem right. They may as well go ahead and say they aren't picking up Peyton's option instead of dragging it out. Cleaning house for Luck is what seems to be taking place. All of Peyton's men are either gone or on their way out. May as well dump Reggie Wayne for draft picks also. Jim Sorgi hasn't been with the Colts since 2009. He signed with the Giants before the 2010 season but hurt his shoulder and hasn't been active since. Caldwell was fired because they had to hold a mirror in front of his mouth during games to make sure he was still alive.

He was an assistant there do they knew what they were getting. I thought Sorgi was still there. My bad. Was there a different backup besides Painter? It looks like Peyton really was the head coach.

They had Kerry Collins for awhile this season too but he was unable to overcome the giant fork sticking out from between his shoulder blades.
January 18, 201214 yr Author PP, Reggie Wayne is a free agent, so he's pretty much gone already. Wow. It's going to be weird seeing these new Colts next year.

January 18, 201214 yr PP, Reggie Wayne is a free agent, so he's pretty much gone already. Steve Johnson and Reggie Wayne are two free agent receivers that I think the Bengals should at least try to get. Either one of them would be great to have opposite of Green.
January 18, 201214 yr I just don't understand how you fire a guy for losing his quarterback for the year. Because he was a terrible coach. That was obvious even when Peyton was playing and they were winning games. Getting rid of Caldwell is certainly one positive the Colts can take from Peyton's injury.

January 18, 201214 yr I think Wayne would be the better compliment and fit better with the offense, but I agree. I think Wayne would be a better compliment right away too. With Johnson being younger, Johnson could also help out right away and more into the future since Wayne is getting older. Either one would be nice to have, and I hope the Bengals at least attempt to try to get one. They are going to have money to spend this off season, so makes sense to at least try.
January 18, 201214 yr I just don't understand how you fire a guy for losing his quarterback for the year. That's the first thing I thought of. This leads me to believe that Manning's on his way out and they already have somebody in mind to coach Luck.
