January 17, 201214 yr So much for the recruiting guru UK hired to recruit Louisville (Greg Nord), so far he has proved nothing, missing out on several good recruits. Heck Chuck Smith couldnt even get a LB (Lamar dawson) from his home school Boyle Co to come to UK, even missed out on Hester, if Hester can play for Navy, then he can for sure play for UK. Both are terrible recruiters IMO.
January 17, 201214 yr ^A kid would be an idiot to turn down USC to play at UK. What can UK offer that USC can't ten-fold? Dawson made the smart decision. The fact that UK was in the final discussion tells me they did a pretty decent job with him.
January 17, 201214 yr UK never had a chance with Dawson. I was told he'd have gone to UL before UK and UL was his #4 school. Every waking day of his life he was surrounded by UK fans begging him to stay home but he was never going to UK. Hester has wanted to go to the military for a while. Once he was offered by the Navy he jumped on it as that is what he wanted to do. Neither played a down for Chuck Smith so the belief that Chuck Smith should pull in Boyle County talent based off of his name is a false belief.

Plus if you are good enough, regardless if you go to big bad USC over KY, the scouts will find you. Yes Chuck Smith should be able to recruit Boyle kids whether he coached them or not.

That is not the point I am trying to make, UK to be good needs to keep these kids, Chuck Smith was responsible for recruiting him and selling him on UK and apparently he didn't, as Nord hasn't done good recruiting Louisville
