I do not think any one can shocked at this fans more fans then not did not want to see snoozefest two and these numbers back that up.

Not too surprised at this.

Just further support for my theory that college football is in a bad bad place right now.

The product the NFL puts on the field in 100 times better than college football and it shows. Now bring me a playoff.

Yep, and college football is slowly dying and becoming irrelevant to many...

Outside of the south.
Outside of the south.

Which means the sport is in big trouble.

It always has been for me. Only reason I watch is because I will gamble on some of the games, other than that it doesn't keep my attention for more than 10 minutes for some reason. I turned the game off a few different times last night to watch DIY Network.

I don't believe it ever will in the south; it definitely is in other areas though.

^It's highly boring and a bland brand of football. Much like HS football. I still for the life of me don't understand how anyone can watch a HS game and not fall asleep within 10 minutes.

I'd rather watch high school football than college but the NFL trumps all by far.

I must be in the minority as I prefer college football over the NFL. Perhaps that's a result of growing up a Bengals fan but I just prefer the college game, I started counting down the days til the first game of the season from about 100 days out.

You guys are off your rocker. The game involved two boring teams. I compare it to watching the Spurs and Pistons in the Finals. Of course not as many will watch.

If College Football is slowly eroding, why was last season the highest rated cable program of all time? College Football has become the second most popular sport for viewership behind the NFL.

Great point. I love the NBA but I wanted no parts of the Spurs/Pistons finals. I believe that was the lowest rated NBA finals.

Granted, I enjoyed the game last night but you make valid points as far as them not being entertaining teams playing for the title.
