January 11, 201214 yr I think most people would prefer the day after New Year's when it falls on a Sunday. Just don't go 9 or 10 days out.

But that's not really new, is it? Even before the BCS they would have 30 days off. Personally I would love to see December Saturdays filled with college football. I'm not a huge college basketball fan though.
January 11, 201214 yr I do not think anyone can shock at this fans more fans than not did not want to see snooze fest two and these numbers back that up.I kinda enjoyed the "Snooze fest two". If your team was in my place with Michigan or ant other BiG 10 school playing a rematch you and every other poster on this site, would be just like me... And as the game unfolded I kept telling folks one more field goal will 6, and then 9 then 18 and it doesn't matter how you score, as long as you have more and cross the mid field stripe. ROLL TIDE!
January 11, 201214 yr That's a very quaint and very unrealistic viewpoint. In today's environment the NFL is king as Sunday's 26 share for the Broncos-Steelers game shows. Also, most colleges depend on their football programs to help support the rest of their athletic programs. Without the ratings the bowls don't get the sponsorships to make the payouts to the teams. Those are just the facts. You're venturing very close to becoming a "get off my lawn" grumpy old man... Just calling the current system out for the hypocrisy it is.
