Posting this for no reason other than to mention that ULL scored their tiebreaking layup with just over 3 seconds left in the game with 6 men on the court. They came out of a timeout with around 15 seconds left with six men, and eventually broke the D for a driving layup. There was some discussion among the officials following a desperation heave by WKU but it was deemed an uncorrectable error.

Like both teams and I usually watch W.K. play, with that being said I am gald to see this one end with L.L. getting the win.

ULL ran the ultimate trick play to get that game-winning shot - the old 6-on-5 drill.

^ Also notice the fans at the bottom right frantically trying to bring it to the ref's attention.

I know 3 guys who are in trouble.

My husband went to this game. He is still asleep, will see what he has to say when he gets up. I watched most of it , but fell asleep in the second half.

I know 3 guys who are in trouble.

These are the 3 guys:

Officials: Roger Ayers, Reinaldo Acosta, Brad Gaston

Article in the paper on the game:

Men's Basketball WKU loses on final possession as Louisiana-Lafayette plays six players

Athletics Director Ross Bjork even had words for officials Roger Ayers, Reinaldo Acosta and Brad Gaston as they exited the floor.

Bjork alerted the referees as they exited that there were six players on the floor for the last play, but the referees had no reply to Bjork, Associate Athletic Director Todd Stewart said.

Bjork declined further comment after the game was over.

John McElwain, Associate Commissioner for the Sun Belt Conference, said his understanding was that that particular play was not a reviewable call.

"The clock hit zero, the officials conversed briefly and that point in the game was decided," he said.

McElwain said he spoke with Commissioner Wright Waters Thursday night and determined that the first course of action would be to have Director of Officials Mike Wood review the tape and meet with the officials.

McElwain could not comment on the future of the officials as far as suspension or termination was concerned. He said the film would be reviewed within the next 24 hours.

Sad part doesn't look like WKU's coaches realized there was 6 players. I guess when he watched the last play and relaized one player is wide open that was normal defense.

Hilarious stuff. I thought it was funny as they were all shaking hands the WKU players were exasperated but the LLU players were like trying to not laugh out loud.

This is good stuff, cant wait to see what happens to the officials.

The fans at the bottom right were pleading in vain to the referee, how frustrating. You have 3 referees couldnt one of them do a count?

Glad someone who broke rules won? Nice
