How good is Peyton Manning's arm? Brady's doesn't seem great even though I think he's the best deep ball passer of all-time. Dalton is not in their class, at least right now but I think as a rookie he's been promising. Its not like he's throwing a record number of pick-sixes or anything.

He has a fine arm. No one says it's a "big" arm. But you have to be really coked up to think it's a weak arm. I feel like you watch cats play with yarn and someone just tells you it's the Bengals.

New England went 13-3 doing it and outscored their opponents by 171 points. Cincinnati went 9-7 and outscored their opponents by 21 points. While the Patriots didn't beat anyone with a winning record (unless Dallas comes back to win tonight) they do own 7 wins against teams that finished 8-8. New England dominated their mediocre/bad opponents outscoring them by an average of 32-21. The Bengals average margin was 21.5-20. Big difference in the two teams.

If you can't see the difference in the performance of the Bengals and the Patriots this season then you should probably just stick to basketball.

The Bengals finished the season 3-5 in their last 8 games. They havent beaten anybody and had to go Cardiac Kids to beat the teams they did. I hate being negative Nancy here but folks this team should be counting their blessings that the Jets, Broncos and Raiders lost.

 

#99 the LB, not sure of his name but he is awful. Took himself out of a ton of plays, especially the long Rice runs.

 

Concerns in Houston

 

In their house, great running game and Andre Johnson plays in this one. Bengals will have to play a perfect game and Lewis needs to pull some things out of his hat, get Green more involved in the offense whether it be on end arounds or throwing down the seam.

FC are they good or bad? They haven't beaten a good team all year but they're in.

Zero teams with a winning record. Played the NFC East with one team with a winning record a team who finished 9 and 7 like the Bengals. Shoot the NFC West who the Bengals played came very close to having the same amount of wins. The Chargers lost out in a division that had a team win with their third string QB. Since you like to talk about backup QB's Tebow was the 3rd string QB going into the season. Tennessee did have a winning record and would have made the playoffs but guess what they lost to the Bengals.

 

Since you like stats so much I guess I will continue. The Bengals played in the toughest division in football, played 10 games against teams with top 10 defenses. Doing that while playing with a rookie QB in the process. Played 4 games against two teams who people will consider as teams with great chance to win the Super Bowl in the Steelers and Ravens. Even with all this they finished with a winning record, and are in the playoffs. Yes they got help, but the reason they got help was because those teams who could have beaten them out coudn't beat the teams they should like the Bengals did. The Bengals only losses came to all playoff teams, and beat Tennessee who would have been in if they didn't beat them. So yes they are a good team, just not one of the best. To put it simple they are the worst good team going into the playoffs.

 

However you know what is great about it all. None of this matters now. It doesn't matter that their losses have came against playoff teams, because if they decide to finally win now. They are ending those teams seasons while the Bengals keep playing.

The easiest draw would have been playing Denver again. Denver doesn't score much, and their defense is not as good as the Texans. However it is a good draw, and definitely a game they can win. It still will be tough, but winnable.

Then Dalton not being that good because since he made it to the second round that shows his arm strength is not good. I mean why did Tom Brady fall to the 6th round? Why did Drew Brees fall to the 2nd round? Shoot Aaron Rodgers came close to falling to the 2nd round. Horrible thing to make a judgement on someone because they fell to the 2nd round or later.

I'm still not sold on Gruden either. They aren't good in the red zone or on short yardage plays and they have really tailed off in the 2nd half of the season.

 

I'm not saying Dalton isn't good. I like most things about him. His arm is the one thing I QUESTION, and the kool-aid drinkers hate it.
