Honestly, I think America is too goofy to elect Mitt. They'll let his religion get in their way.

I'm not voting for Mitt, but it doesn't have anything to do with his religion. And while I can't speak for everyone who thinks how I do, those that I talk with are in the same boat with me: Mitt can't be trusted. Flip-flopper extraordinaire. John Kerry Jr. I'm sure there are those who will let religion get in the way, but I really don't think it's as widespread as some think.

I could be wrong though. There's a first time for everything.

I'm not a Mitt fan at all, prolly wouldn't vote for him. I'd like Huntsman then Newt.

You may be right on the popularity of Gingrich fading, but the man would be able to more than hold his own vs. Obama in a debate.
After tonight's Iowa debate, Newt appears to be in the driver's seat.

And that will get Obama re-elected. I still find it hard to believe that a man married three times, a man who was having his own affair when he led the charge against Clinton, that a man basically run out of Congress for ethics violations ... that is who the Republicans are going to nominate? Say it ain't so Joe ...

Regardless of his personal issues of the past, he will probably make the best leader. He would easily outshine Obama in any debate situation, and is currently the GOP's best shot to win the presidency.

I just don't see it. But if he can somehow win the nomination, then maybe he can win it all. :idunno:

The only way Newt can win the presidency is if Democrats and Independents are not allowed to vote.

Romney is the best GOP hope to pull in a wider spectrum of the electorate.

I agree with those who say don't pay attention to "electability". At one time, Barak Obama didn't seem "electable" over Hillary Clinton. He was labeled as "no experience", and "no knowledge of foreign policy". He had rumors of not being born in the US. Not to mention he had the middle name Hussein, in the wake of 9/11. If anyone was "unelectable" in comparison to Hillary Clinton, it was him. He did not have the most positive image and he had no "brand", but he got elected. Electability is bologna.

Would you vote for an atheist?

Newt had a good debate last night. I honestly think he knows what he's talking about. Trust is the big thing with me along with the fact of whether he can beat Obama.

I just don't trust Newt... I really don't trust any of them except Paul.

Romney, if he doesnt get the nomination.....NADER 2012

There are now other Republicans coming to the forefront to point out how bad Gingrich would be as a nominee. As I said, Gingrich is flavor of the month as the right wingers try to find anyone they can get behind in opposition to Romney. As Republican voters look more closely at Gingrich, they will see he is not the right guy (pun intended).

The only truly "electible" candidate out of the GOP group is Romney. I'm not saying that because I support him, I'm saying it because it's a simple fact. Nominating Newt or any of the others is essentially saying we're happy with 4 more years of President Obama.
