There are countless polls we read/hear about everyday. I figured BGP should have their own poll showing our status with the candidates.

This applys to everyone regardless of party affiliation. Who are you currently supporting or would vote for, as of now?

I'd like to have as many of you participate as possible.

I am registered Republican and support Ron Paul.

Vote! Libertarian here (also Ron paul supporter). :D

As of right now, I am in the Mitt Romney camp, however very easily could see myself voting for Gary Johnson before all is said and done.

I don't think I can add more options to the poll. If a mod would like to add the other candidates I would appreciate it!

The sad thing is, Newt is looking more and more likely that he'll win the nomination....I hope those that are voting for and supporting him realize that by doing so they are essentially voting for 4 more years of President Obama.

Despite my libertarian leanings and nature, I probably fall into the Romney camp at the moment as well. If there was a Republican candidate that could unite(at least somewhat) both sides to get something beneficial done it would be him. I like Newt, I think he is very smart and articulate, but I also think that he has waaay too much baggage to be electable. Don't know much about Gary Johnson at the moment, need to look into him more.

The classic battle of "who I want" vs "who can win."

Unfortunately, that pretty much sums it up.

You still vote for who you want > who can win, JMO.

Same.

^Know it All, I think it all depends. One would think, whether you're a Libertarian or Republican, that Romney would be more closely alligned with your views than President Obama, correct? If he's the one who realistically would have a chance to win, wouldn't it be in the best interest to vote him?

Out of curiosity for those who've said Romney, why not Huntsman?

Agreed. You sometimes have to put your ideology to the side and do what is practical.
