I just don't trust Newt... I really don't trust any of them except Paul.

He is definitely the most consistent politician (Paul). Most people cannot fathom his foreign policy , but it's a brilliant idea and definitely something we need to consider. He is a very smart man who is overlooked.

There are now other Republicans coming to the forefront to point out how bad Gingrich would be as a nominee. As I said, Gingrich is flavor of the month as the right wingers try to find anyone they can get behind in opposition to Romney. As Republican voters look more closely at Gingrich, they will see he is not the right guy (pun intended).

Barring some unforeseen blunder, I'd say Gingrich is here to stay. I wouldn't be surprised to see Romney begin losing ground as well.

Would you vote for an atheist?
Sure, if I think he/she is the best candidate out there. I see no reason why not.

Hunstman and Gingrich are having a "Lincoln-Douglas" style debate in New Hampshire right now, if anyone is interested: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/cvplive/cvpstream3

I like this format infinitely more than what's come of "debates," especially in the general election.

Here's a link to date & times for the GOP debates. Also has all of the past debates on video with no commercials.

If anyone is interested.

GOP 2011/12 debates

Newt has pledged fidelity to his wife. Not exactly sure what he thought he was doing the first two marriages.

I did see a funny line that said Newt has more wives than the two Mormons combined.

This will be one of the more ignorant comments I've ever posted on BGP:

Michelle Bachmann looked pretty darn good last night. I am not talking about her debating ability BTW. Not claiming she should be in the same Hot 100 list as Jennifer Aniston, but she ain't bad. Just saying .....

The classic battle of "who I want" vs "who can win."

I believe so too.

While I am usually more erudite than you I must admit that Mrs. Palin can certainly be called "hot." It really depends on how she wears her hair.

Back to regularly scheduled discussion.

I want Obama to be re-elected. Republicans fuss about Romney but would no doubt support him over Obama. Liberals fuss about Obama but will support him regardless of who the Republican candidate is. As typically is the case, the election will be won or lost in the center. I think Romney is the most likely Republican to pick up swing voters. I would therefore vote for the Newt.

Palin and Bachman are both attractive but I would go with Congressman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Yeow!

1987 called. They want their cheerleader back.

I failed to see any logic explaining why you want Obama re-elected. You want him re-elected but you would vote for Newt? What?

He would vote for Newt in a primary if he could as he feels Romney has the best chance to beat Obama. That's how I understood it.
