I watched a little video on wazoo sports, I dont think Mayfield should take Hazard for granted. They dont look like a bad team at all.

Hazard has played a tough schedule this year and they have alot of returning players from last year, so, they should be well aware of what to expect and be prepared for it. Although Mayfields offense isn't quite as strong as last years, there running game with Jackson is a little better. When he decides to get a few extra yrds, he does it. He's a very strong and punishing runner. For Hazard to beat them, they're going to have to prove they can stop the run, even if that means some one on ones with the wide outs, because if the run game is working, the Cards will just line up in the power I and run it right down there throats and take there chances with that defense. If the Cardinals get up 2 or more scores, it'll be an extremely tough uphill battle to play catch up on Mayfields defense. IMO, Hazard has to get a couple of early stops and there offense will need to control the clock by picking up some 1st downs, even if they don't score on all of them, at least sustain a few drives and stay in the game. If they keep it close till the 4th qtr, then they can take there chances and open it up, but, they sure can't afford a bunch of 3 and outs and give the Mayfield offense extra chances because they'll eventually make you pay for them.

Hazard looks to have a nice size line. #71 the right tackle is slow as Christmas. If he can't move to good they will have their hands full with our D-line.

Just like last year 40+ to 6 or 8 Mayfield....

8 is Great but 9 would be Fine!

I think it will be a better game than most think but Mayfield will stretch it out later in the game. 42-14

I believe that Mayfield wins pretty big, not as bad as last year though. Even with the losses at the OL, the defense will be too much. Any defense that holds Beechwood to under 200 yards for a whole game in this season is VERY good. Good luck to both teams.

 

Bingo. Beechwood averaged 50 points a game and there were only 3 1A teams on the schedule. Beechwood had no trouble moving the ball and scoring points versus every team they played including Cov Cath, New Cath, the 6A schools, etc. But versus Mayfield it was a struggle. If Hazard is run focused as was stated above, the only way they have a chance is to have a defense like Beechwood's, and based on last week's score they aren't anywhere close to that kind of defense. Hazard has a very good program and I am sure they have some top level athletes, but I will be surprised if they can keep it within 4 TD's.

Hazard does not appear on film to possess a defense like Bw's but we have not seen one as good as Bw's all year either thank goodness. Hazard appears to adapt on offense. Some weeks they throw more than run and vise versa. They also are very balanced some weeks and have a 6-4' QB who likes to keep it so I suspect that they may see what Nussbaum (I still have no idea if I spelled it right and if not sorry Emperor) did and mix alot of QB scrambles in by design. This kid at QB is pretty good, a better passer it appears that Nussbaum but not as fast or hard to tackle. Nussbaum is seemed was like trying to tackle a brick wall. Their line looks quicker than last year but they still have a couple of bigger slow linemen on both sides so I think our speed will help. Their LB's are excellent. Db's maybe a area we have a advantage with our recievers. Our speed will certainly be our biggest weapon. Hopewfully Jackson has his umpthird great game on both sides of the ball, if he does I think we will be fine. Well that is atleast this arm chair QB's take.

Mayfield 49-13

Mayfield will have their hands full, last night we lost another lineman, we will have to go it without 2 starters up front. I still think Mayfield has to much but that could be a troubling factor for us as we are having to rely on kids without as much experience but they will get the start of their lives and will give it their all. I hate this for senior Seth Clifton who was hurt last night. He has been a warrior this year. McAlpin who also was lost for the year is a sophmore so he will have another day but I hate it for him and Mills as well

 

Hey TP...I really appreciate the hospitality from both your family and westsider. I had hoped you were a good guy and not the person you sometimes tend to be on here. I would love to have met Snake, but by then his legs were already dangling from #9's butt

 

You guys were every bit as advertised and it was certainly a classic football game that I will remember forever. The woulda/coulda/shoulda/what if's always come up after intense contests and are a total waste of time because the outcome never changes. I'm just glad it ended with the outcome of the game still hanging and hopefully proved we were also as advertised.

 

I would like for you to extend my Son's deepest apologies to the senior that was carted off the field. He felt/heard his ankle break and it is still bothering him really bad. Especially after reading he was a senior. My boy plays hard, but he's still a kid and feels just terrible. Also, I knew nothing about Coach Morris, but after he and the staff took my Son to the side to talk with him after the game...I will forever be grateful for what he did and said to my boy.

 

Lastly, you and Snake just need to just stop sandbagging about the Hazzard game. Same stuff different game! No way will their defense be as strong/athletic/fast off the line or secondary as you just faced. I will also guarantee their running game can't compete...the best match-up for a state championship game just took place
