I was curious, about how many people show up for a pregame practice? I know they used to make a production about it. It was kind of cool.

Yeah right, and Highlands is goin to wear Blue on Blue this Friday too.........My gosh, I would say this particular practice each yr rivals some schools Friday nite game attendence.

Not for sure, but I would guess they moved during the 1991 season when the KHSAA began allowing 4 teams per district to make the playoffs. That change added an extra week to the postseason. I, personally, can't remember the state finals not being the first weekend in December - but I was 10 in 1991.

That's right. I had forgot about that. I never really understood the reasoning behind that move. It obviously didn't last long.

There is absolutely no better day to practice. People (um, cough, cough; parents) that are against this obviously have no clue how special of 2 hours this will be for their son(s). It's something they will never forget. Parents that are against Thanksgiving practice need to get out of the Little League mindset.

Amen to that! Being a member of my school's first team to practice on Thanksgiving is special, particularly when the next game was the championship.

Drove back from Indiana the past 4 years for practice. Don't have to do that this year and it's kind of sad.

Garrard's first Thanksgiving practice this week. I believe I heard Coach Scenters say 8am but I'm not for sure. I have no idea if it is public or not.

 

Indeed, the 8am is correct. Mark Scenters never has a practice to which the public is invited. That is his 'classroom' time.

I will be at Holy Cross's with some warm coffee and a smile. Looking forward to it.
