Should Highlands Bring the Cannon Back as a Statue

Sounds like a great idea to others . I concur.

Maybe a replica...

I think the idea has to be discussed with a certain family and get their approval before it is seriously considered.

Indeed.

I always thought it should be incorporated into the game. Maybe something like running it onto the field or something.
That's what I've always envisioned as well. It is such an integral part of Highlands' history. The only problem with these scenarios is the fact that the cannon was the cause of a terrible accident, and I don't know that it would be appropriate to use it in a celebratory manner.

I would move to have a certain man's name put on it since he earned it. Then you could put all record breakers, state titles, and Mr. Footballs added to separate plates on it. It also could prompt a new award called the cannon award for the person that ignites the team for that season. The potential for this is exciting.

Have the team pat it on their way out? Have any of these players seen it in their high school careers?

Sorta like "Rays Rock" over in Park Hills. CovCath has that really cool cave over there that they go to when they need a win so maybe Highlands should have the Cannon with a couple of Bronzed Football Players standing next to it. This could be used as their good luck charm. LOL. :D

Yep and expensive. Get working on it..............If we all put in $5 we could call it "the drive for 5 fund". No pun intended.

Maybe we could fire a blue laser beam out of it that would bounce off the press box, both goal posts and all the light poles after every touchdown.

The blue laser beam might knock the press box over.

I'm actually starting to fall in like with my idea. :D

I don't think it's a cave. I'll find out for sure though if you want.

Speaking of symbols, am I just missing it or has the bird not been at the games? I'd be happy to get in the suit if it would fit me. Just seems like all the things I remembered of the past have been going away. The gauntlet of fans, cheerleaders, and band for the players to run through went away sometime ago. The cannon gone for obvious and understandable reasons. If they are doing away with Bird too it will be another sad sign of the times.

BRING IT BACK !!!
