Did we forget about Dalyn Dawkins?

How good is JJ Jude? Compare him with some other RBs you know.

 

If J.J. plays for HHS his whole carrer he has as many yards lifetime as he has had this season. He is a real good high school running back who would be an asset to any team in this state. His gaudy statistics are a product of his coach as much as his talent. This is not meant in any way to diminish J.J. in any way. There is not one fan, coach or player who would not want J.J. Jude to be on their team.

Product of the system and competition.

He is a nice running back but would not do well in NKY. In my opinion he is not a power running back. He seems more suited to counter plays and runs around the end. Defenses in NKY are too strong and disciplined for his type of running.

I totally disagree. Dawkins has power and speed. Look at the teams he has put big numbers against. Who in NKY has a better defense than Cincy St. X, Moeller, Cathedral and Lou St. X. Give me a break.

Good back, I would say top ten in the state this year. Was able to break tackles, seemed pretty fast, but it seemed like his best attribute was his balance. It was tough to get a good gauge on how good he was because there were many times in the game where the quarterback was hit before he could hand the ball off. I don't think he was given much of a chance to show off his talents.

Dawkins Stats from the Highlands vs Trinity scrimmage 23 carries 188 with 2 Tds. What was JJ Jude's Stats & how did he compare to the speedy Dawkins?

Tough to tell tonight as he was running into contact almost before he got the ball. I'd take Elliott or Vocke this year over Jude based on what I've seen, but put Jude with a decent supporting cast and I might change my mind. That said, I'd take Simpson over Jude any day.

I would take a couple of JJJ RB's on my team any day. The kid is a stud RB. He isn't much of a DB, as showed tonight when he let up and allowed the HHS RB to take the goal line without contact at the pylon.

 

The kid is tough as nails though. He got absolutely destroyed by HHS defenders all night and kept getting back up and still managed 90+ yds. Man, there was some hitting going on out there tonight.

Disagree with what? Nobody except you has talked about Dawkins, he was talking about Jude.

What are you smoking or are you joking! Dawkins is a highly recruited D1 Rb. No dispect to the X Rbs but they are not on Dawkins level.

Very good running back, but not great. Last night he did not break any tackles to advance to gain big yardage against a very good defenseive scheme. Great backs do this. I have seen this from Elliott and Vocke locally. Jude is a top ten back in the state this year but IMO not the best. Have not seen Dawkins and Elliott is hurt. Have seen Vocke and would give him the nod based on his burst of speed at the line. He hits the hole and then turns it on.

I'm not a big fan of these type of threads but to say Jude wouldn't have the same success against NKY teams is just silly. He had over 800 yards in 3 playoff games against NKY teams last year (Scott, CovCath and Highlands). He rushed for over 400 yards against Holmes and around 100 against Highlands this year. So in his last 5 games against NKY teams he has rushed for over 1300 yards. I say the young man has done very well against our teams up here.

 

Jude is not big or the fastest back. But he has tremendous balance, is very tough and has great stamina. This kid would be far more than an "average back" for HHS.
