Craig just lost a job ... Beltran will be in right field. Craig is back in the role he succeeded in last year.

You don't think Beltran will play some CF? I also think the Cards will play Craig at 1st too, give Berkman some rest time to time.

The less time Beltran spends in CF, the better off the Cardinals are. He's much more suited to a corner at this point in his career. I wouldn't be surprised if Schumaker spends some time in CF this year.

I like this move for the Sox. They trade away a platoon right fielder and get back a platoon outfielder and a proven closer for a couple of prospects....the first baseman had two players ahead of him and Alcantera was unproven but talented. This allows Bard to join the rotation and Aceves to stay in the pen where he was dominant in long relief. The Red Sox are as good as anyone now from the 7th inning on.

The Yankees likely became World Series favorites yesterday with their trade of Jesus Montero for Michael Pineda combined with their signing of Hiroki Kuroda.

Excellent trade for the Yanks dealing a prospect for a young arm. Really stings looking back at the Reds trading an MVP for a young arm.

Makes me wonder why the reds didn't go after Pineda...

...and now the Yanks have a rotation. Great trade for them.
