From what I have heard, this Saturday "just might be" the last Saturday Day game played at CovCath. Then again it is just what I have been hearing....no promises that it will be, just what I have been hearing.....

There will be a LOT of things influencing that "just might be" you're mentioning - particularly some generous donors :D It's definitely the optimists view at this point.

As much as the lights have been discussed in regards to football, I have to think the real value is to the whole athletic department. Honestly, I don't know how CCH gets all the sports taken care of between games and practices with one field and no lights.

This was the first game that Bir has played in third quarter much less the 4th quarter (Holmes game he did play in the 1st Offensive series which was three plays long I believe) since the HHS game. PC, BYE, HC and Holmes, so he needed the work prior to the start of the playoffs .

What? So the first 30 passes didn't give him enough work?

I don't have a thing to do with it, ask Coach Wirth or Coach Roberts.

You asked me a question and I gave you an honest answer. If you don't like my answer, sorry but that's the best I can do!

I think for whatever reason.........Matney gets blasted for similar behavior. Wonder why?

When did Johnson Central start utilizing the forward pass?

Is it really similar?

Is it really similar?

Take the exact same situation. Put Matney on the sideline............see what happens.

If the score is 35-14 with 2 minutes left with the ball deep in the other team's territory it could be similar. If you criticize Coach Matney for padding stats in a game that's already in hand then I can see where people think it's similar. That pass looks like it was the one that broke the record that was mentioned in another thread. How is that different than Coach Matney trying to get a record for Jude? Maybe both coaches are just trying to get something for their player but it sure seems like Coach Matney takes some serious heat on here especially from some Covington Catholic fans.

I, personally, love the fact that CovCath plays most of their games on Saturdays. It would make sense to make the earlier season games night games to avoid the La Salle game issue, but why would you totally take away that tradition? They draw a lot of people to games, many times, b/c they are the only show in town.

For one thing no one knew about the record until after the game.

Didn't answer the question.

Huge stretch. Still not explaining how it's similar to circumstances where Matney's been discussed. Were timeouts called? Was the other team allowed to score so stats could be padded?

For one thing no one knew about the record until after the game.

Opps!
