 I think Crunch got you SS. He is just trying to get your feathers ruffled and I would say mission accomplished. Mayfield is #1 till someone in 1A beats them.

Just bored today :)

I can come up with my own original material; however, I can't but help and snicker when I envision you with a ball gag in and TP holding the reins!

You are some piece of work brother! tryin to stir it I see :thumb:

I am confident, why wouldn't I be?

Consumed with BW. Sure Bw is a likely opponet and there are some Bw fans that provide interesting incite when I can draw them out. I could talk more Mayfield but lets face it there are only a couple of Cardinal posters that get on here regularly. For me, I'm stuck at a cpu all day with work most days so this gives me short breaks durning the course of the day

My take is that I have a decent chance of beating BW if BW does not discover the forward pass. I doubt the run alone will beat us. I do not think BW has played a defense as good as ours or as quick say maybe CC. NCC has yet to impress me and I am of the opinion that NKY football is just average with the exception of about 3 teams

I'm with ya TP! I'm not sure how great your defense is since it really hasn't been tested, but I'm sure it's very good. I just get a kick out of you guys saying "we'll know BW after the NCC game..then, it wasn't a big deal...they really weren't that good", come on guys! Anyway, I've watched 3 of your games and I have the same feeling you do about us...not overly impressed! I may have been nervous about your PT win, but after hearing about all of their injuries including losing their QB in the 1st series...is that win really worth hanging your hat on? how about 3-7 Graves? 2-8 Evansville team? Any others? Seriously, for the most part I value your opinion, but I blow the others off now because their posts are too predictable.

We left 15pts on the field against a pretty good NCC team and didn't need to show the pass. Hightchew is an animal, but we won't face another QB like him...I like our chances the rest of the way...with the same confidence you have about your team.

PT lost their QB in the 1st half in the last series on a very hard hit at mid-field. Graves is a very solid team that has had some misfortune. Beechwood would beat Graves but it would be very hard fought. PT is for real and after that game I knew we for real. I had my doubts going into that game. Some of the same things were said last year by BW posters, one of these years you'll get it right. I hate hijacking this thread so, nice win against NCC

Agreed!

Not arrogance, just confidence...right! MF fans? ;)

Man, for all that confidence you folks have you sure are consumed with BW...Wow!

No more than YOU are with MAYFIELD! Crap, i was just giving my honest opinion, MAYFIELD, has not played the schedule that BW has, and i think the win over NCC showed just how good they are, not that I believe it will be easy for either team (assuming they do get to each other) I was just giving the Tigers props, you cannot even accept praise when it is given, give me a break!

We did learn alot from the NCC win, no question about it. It was a heck of a win against a very good team. I'm not sold that they are or were the #1 team in AA but I am sure they are pretty good and are atleast one of the best in AA. BW's effectiveness was suprising and certainly Nassumbaum, Vocke and the new fullback (#45) who's name escapes me for the moment were all very impressive. I was more impressed with Nassumbaum than anyone, he has a heck of a set of wheels, skills, and smarts, a deadly combination. I had a couple of people ask me yesterday after I watched the game, (including Snake after he convinced someone removed his ball gagg) what I made of BW. I told them I was impressed and it will take a stern effort on out part to beat them. I then went on to tell them not to send a forfeit notice to Ft. Mitchell yet. I felt we were quicker than NCC ( I also thought BW was as well) and that would make up for alot. I also told them that when Nassumbaum did pass it was not real fluid like when Mayfield's Guhy passes and that unless they were able to greatly improve in that area I felt we still had a edge on defense. I realize you did not need to pass it but I think agaisnt us you will have to some and if you don't work on it against strong opponets I think it will be tougher to do when you have to. I also pointed out that we had played several teams this year that ran a similar offensive scheme against us and that was a big plus in being ready for what Bw was doing. I would fully expect you guys to be confident, after all, we all felt this would be a reloading year for the program and I certainly did not feel that we would be undefeated or a strong as we seem to be. If I were you guys I would feel exactly as you do after all you are BW. By the way, the PT qb left the game with about a minute to go til the half and the game was already well in hand. I have no doubt of a similar outcome if they had his services the entire night. Think what you will about Graves but they are a pretty solid football team and our cross town rival. They have 4 losses to ranked teams by a combined 5 points. Ask Christian County what they think of Graves, they escaped in OT after Graves failed to convert a 2 point conversion by inches. I think they scare me more than anyone else we play when you consider the rival aspect. Mayfield is their Super Bowl. That Evansville team was a last minute addition after a TN team backed out and we knew before the game it was going to be ugly. Given the past, I am a little suprised to hear you get caught up in our schedule. I think we have been down this road the last 2 years with similar schedule doubts. When I look at NKY this year and your schedule I only see 2 games that stand out, CC and NCC and I think we are a better football team than NCC. Am I right? Who knows, but it is my opinion from what I have to work with from 5 or 6 hours away. I would not discout Murray, Greenwood, Caldwell Co. or Marshall Co as being bad wins, they are solid though I do not think they are anything like a BW but certainly ample for preparing us for our attempt at a title run. I also value your opinion, you have proven yourself time and time again as has VOR, Sportsguy, JohnD and several others and I certainly was impressed with every single BW poster on here in defeat last year. I can't think of a single poster that did not handle defeat with class and wish us good luck at state. Bw has a very knowledgable fan base on here. We disagree on this and so far I have been right but this time I think it is harder than ever to call and you maybe right and if you are then it will be my turn to be to be gracious in defeat and I will certainly still be in BG pulling for the Tigers to win a title. All this of course assumes we are both there. I still have a very good Louisville team to likely play. I think your road to Mayfield will be a little easier. I have told you guys a ton of times that I do kid you guys some but I have great respect for BW and not to take it as personal. Ok, end of chapter 1 of my book

Tilghman's quarterback was knocked out late in the first half, with Mayfield already holding a 17-6 lead. Yeah, it's a win worth hanging their hat on, because Tilghman is one of the top three teams in 3A, just as is the NewCath win for Beechwood because NewCath is probably the best 2A team in the state.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, THIS IS WAY TOO LONG A RESPONSE. YOU LOST ME SHORTLY AFTER " We did learn alot from the NCC win,"

I am sure we all appreciate your concern and sympathy, but we are enjoying our seasons and prefer our situations over Holy Cross's.

OUCH!!!

I enjoyed the read. Of course, I have been known to get a little wordy in a post on occasion also. :D

Is Beechwood better than NewCath? Is NewCath better than Beechwood? Doesn't matter, when you have two "high quality" teams playing either team can win on "any given Friday", and Beechwood was that team this year and they deserve the bragging rights that come with it. Yes, everyone wants to say "we are better than you", however when it's all said and done it's best when you are the winner of game 15 of the high school season then you have the ultimate bragging rights, STATE CHAMPS. Let's hope both teams can claim that this year and be present together on the turf at Paul Brown Stadium being honered at the Cincinnati Bengals final home game.

Strangly, they didn't extend us an invite last year:confused:

Ok enough hijacking of this thread for me
