Mayfield and 1 other school are tied for the largest in class A, Bw is the 3rd largest 1A school and I think it was only 2 kids behind Mayfield so both might get to play AA ball in the future

 

Here's hoping for continued growth for both of us. 2A could become a very nice competitive class if we both could grow up to there.

Or if they combined 1A and 2A like they shouldve a long time ago and get rid of 6 classes. 4 classes is plenty, but this isn't the time to discuss that. I like BW in tonight's matchup and, if they are healthy, to win it all.

I have no doubt the BGP'ers and others are getting tired of the Mayfield/Beechwood talk. You are probably like me and would welcome more competition in 1A. I would love to see there being 7 or 8 teams that were serious title contenders. That would make it more fun.

You can thank the KHSAA for that, with the watered down six-class format.

I hope the Beechies take down NCC tonight..That should be a good game. I think NCC has been a little over-hyped and overrated this year, but, they may prove me wrong on that..I also hope that Mayfield and Beechwood both get to move up in the next alignment.. I would think it possible with them both being 2 of the larger 1a schools.. Man, that would make 2a loaded with good teams and a heck of alot of fun.. They already have several really good programs and these 2 would make it very, very tough..

Not a major disagreement but Fairview was at #4 before they beat Raceland I belive, they blank Nicholas Co. last week and went down to #5 :confused:.

Fairview is good, very good and imo should be at least at 4 and quite possbly the 3 slot., I feel sure that they played absolutely everyone vs. Nicholas in their 33-0 win. That coupled with them winning the Eagles season "super bowl" vs. Raceland the week before the probably did have a let down but trust me, they bareb good.

At any rate, I will trust the people making these rankings know more about the other teams than I so ll in ll it looks good. btw...I woukd not have argued if Raceland had fallen out of the top 10.

I had that thought briefly. But if Mayfield wins, they are undefeated state champs so they are still #1 until someone in 1A beats them.

Very good point. I had Beechwood at 1 untill they lost. In a way I still feel that they are better but Mayfield deserves the ranking. Beechwood beating NCC, I believe I would put them at a dead even tie at the top.

To satisfy the masses we could give BW the honorary #1 ranking in 2A if they beat NCC tonight. That way Mayfield and BW can both be #1 if and when they meet in a few weeks.

Frankfort has always loved the battles with the Beechies, We always jump out on them but cant hold them off. Frankfort is really young But the Future is Bright!

I don't think Fairview has gotten up to #4 ... seems that Holy Cross and Hazard have been above them all year.

 

Fairview's schedule makes it hard to rate them any higher.

Personally, I don't think NCC is as good as they were last year with everything they lost and I do think Beechwood is better than last year, so, I fully expect the Tigers to win there game tonight, even with the QB out. NCC also has several injuries, so, that should balance things out. That's why I don't think Bwood beating NCC would make any difference in therecurrent #2 rating... Now, if Mayfield struggles against a good, but, not great Caldwell team, then there may be a little more merit to voting Beechwood. If the Cardinals win handily, then it should be same as week before.

 

If Beechwood loses big tonight, do they drop a spot or 2 in the rankings if say, Holy Cross or Hazard win big this week?
