US Withdraws From Iraq

You have to value people who speak from the heart, and tell the truth. And you should value people who honor the vision of your founders and respect the most sublime constitution devised by human intelligence.

You are asking for too much

You mean the consequences that come from being there in the first place? The same place he voted against invading in the first place? Uhhh.....sure....
Obama didn't vote for or against since he couldn't. He was still an Illinois State Senator when we went into Iraq.

Ron Paul?
So you don't want to hear about how candidates are going to fix the economy? What exactly would your vote be based on?

I don't have a strong enough background in economics to determine which candidate can truly fix the economy or how they should fix the economy. I don't expect any candidate to publicly say...'I can't fix the economy but vote for me anyways.'. What candidate would do that? Why wouldn't every candidate say they can fix the economy? That is the gist of my post.

My vote is based on party line 99% of the time.

My fault. I must have confused his stance of not invading Iraq into belief that he voted against it. My bad.

Obama expressed opposition to the Iraq invasion, but he wasn't elected to the Senate until after the war had begun.
Ron Paul?

I don't think he is electable but he is a very smart man. If we listened to him in 2002 we wouldn't of had the housing bubble pop.

You don't have to be an Economics major. Just look at history to decide what works. Britain's Margret Thatcher turned it around in the 80's through conservative policy making. Reagan did the same here.

If you want to know what it will take to turn our economy around and you are tired of us Repubs loving on Reagan, go study Thatcher. I had a professor who was from England and is not a conservative but even he admits what Thatcher did turned Britain around for the better.

We borrowed enough debt to go from $997 Billion in debt to $2.8 Trillion. http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/histdebt/histdebt_histo4.htm

That was on military spending. Yes that is a disappointment but look at what we were facing, The Soviet Union. So weighing the benefits with the cost, With unemployment low, the economy doing awesome with Reagan, The Cold War was over....I would say that 2 trillion was a price we had to pay. We saw benefits from it. We haven't with Obama's policies.

I don't know why I'm laughing...I voted for Ross Perot...twice, for much the same reason. I'm CONVINCED it was a mistake that he was never president.

^ I just KNEW there was someone else besides me who voted for Perot.

^ I voted for him, too.

Well, then there....we've identified the 3 votes for Mr. Perot.

If I remember correctly Perot drew quite a few votes.
