October 22, 201114 yr Rarely posting on this Forum - this is a subject that is close to my heart. Having done multiple tours in Iraq with the Navy (specifically working Civil Affairs), the Iraqi's are an industrious and energetic people who will make every effort to stand on thier own feet and becoming truly an independant nation. While I have litterally bleed in that country for what I believe was a good reason, it is time for us to go and let the good people of Iraq stand united in the Freedom that they have been given by the 9 yrs of liberation. Looking back at this point of my career and knowing that another deployment (Afghanistan) is looming in the distance, I do not in any way want to see the lives, efforts, resources, and suffering of the warriors amazing work collapse in front of our eyes. I believe the interest in keeping terrorist elements and the Iraninian influences are well worth keeping a close eye on for possible return if/when things go bad. We have been training them for the last 4 yrs. They are ready to stand on thier own. Final note: I don't believe this move is somekind of savior move by our countries leadership. This is something that has long been programmed, and is only used for re-election possibilities. I think this needs to be remember and kept in mind when voting in 2012. Thank you for your service. October 24, 201114 yr What happened to all troops being out 16 months into Obama's Presidency? It's about time considering we never should have been in Iraq, or Afgan. Now we are sending troops to Africa. Let's continue to spend money we don't have and inflate the dollar by printing more money. Genius. America-Policing the world & influencing Democracy....

October 24, 201114 yr You mean the consequences that come from being there in the first place? The same place he voted against invading in the first place? Uhhh.....sure....Unfortunately, he inherited a situation where there was no good solution. If he pulled out early, he risked instability. If he stayed, he was a hypocrite. October 24, 201114 yr Iraq I can see where you are coming from, however Afghanistan was justified. Justified, yes. Was it necessary to have 98,000 troops occupying Afgan (at a cost of $6.7 billion a month)? Why are we still there? Osama slipped out of the country long before we killed him.

You have to value people who speak from the heart, and tell the truth. And you should value people who honor the vision of your founders and respect the most sublime constitution devised by human intelligence. (Cough "Ron Paul" cough cough ) And of course the economy
