Just seemed odd that the opposing team decided to jump on the home teams benches to celebrate...I just have never seen it before. In my opinion it was an over reaction...that is it, my opinion...I remember someone saying that when you get into the end zone, act like you have been there before.....when you win a big game......act like you have been there before....Maybe I am old school....Winning a district is just one steps of several....that is all I meant by it....Nothing more, nothing less...just seemed odd. Now that is impressive. Those kids have been thirsty out there for yrs and yrs. Now is the time Camels, this is as good of a coaching staff as you are going to find, Coach Lickert and staff is going to do their part and the kids and the parents will have to buy into the program and not be afraid to tast the Kool Aid. LOL

 

Agree 100% Sweep , and it sounds the fans and parents have bought in already. I'm happy for everyone involved , let them celebrate they earned it !!! I'm positive that the celebration was in no way disrespectful , the coaches would not allow that to happen. Played little leauge sports and grew up with the head coach and one of the assist. coaches , they have way too much class to let things happen that shouldn't. Give this program some time and they will be contenders again , but for now , kudos to all !!!

As a Camel fan I think the explanation of the earlier comment is fine and he is right afterall Campbell County winning the district is huge but they still have quite a road to travel to get to the state championship game. Do I think it's possible....after this season anything is possible but we all have to take it one game at a time in the playoffs. We do have a few injuries after the Ryle game although until the docs see a couple of the boys on Monday we won't know if anyone hast to sit out a game or two. I don't think any of them were season ending injuries but there was a lot of ice and ibuprofren (spelling?) going out at the post game get together!

 

And I want to say thanks to the Raider Nation for being such good hosts at the game.

Campbell County played a soft first half but came out in the second half and Tyler Druham single handedly drove the ball down the field and beat up the Ryle defense, I think it is a great win for Campbell County. The celebration was a little excessive, doing what they did after the game. Evidently one can tell they have not won the district in a few years. None the less, congrats. As for the coaches not knowing what down in was at the end of the game, like I posted earlier, don't assume anything of the sort.

Whatever, there was no taunting or mean spirit behind CC's celebration. They went from 0 - 5 to winning district when NO ONE was giving them a chance. They are high school kids, it seems like you are the only one who has a problem with it. There was no intention of being disrespectful to the Ryle team nor their fans, it is called CELEBRATING with people who have supported these kids for their whole career. Like I said before the head coach of Ryle had no problem with it and actually gave props to the kids.

 

I agree. I wasn't there, but unless it was blatantly directed toward Ryle (taunting rather than celebrating) then let the kids, coaches & fans celebrate. I quite honestly don't care what the coach of the other team thinks as long as nothing is directed toward his team. Winning district is a big deal! All these teams have been working since last December to win their district.

 

Maybe the "every team makes the playoffs thing" has cheapened a district title a bit. What if teams didn't go to the playoffs unless they won district (not saying that that is how it should be just asking). Do you think anyone would have a problem with celebrating then?

I do not like the whole part of every team makes the playoffs. It drives me nuts! I think the top 2 teams should go to playoffs with a 4 team district but if you could make it a 6 team district then I say take the top 4 teams which I think it used to be that way.
