Since Michael Jackson in 1993, I don't know how that list could be better. I think it is impressive.

I dunno...I would go ahead and acknowledge that there ARE a handful of formerly great acts that have since washed up. You could possibly make an argument against that for Tom Petty and The Boss...and maybe even The Stones. Still, excepting the nauseating top 40 pop acts that they've had perform, there's hardly anyone there on the list who's not living solely off of the music hits they had 20, 30, 40, and 50 years ago. To quote one of my favorite movies (and subsequently one of my favorite recording artists): "Is it, in fact, unfair to criticize a formerly great artist for his latter day sins? Is it better to burn out or fade away?"

October 4, 201114 yr Seriously. Wouldn't you want to be in that meeting of the person who says, "I think we should get Madonna for the SB halftime show." If this were Superbowl XX, ok, I get it. With that said I am a huge Madonna fan and will be watching. Just a reminder of why you should always read the fine print.

October 4, 201114 yr So, who would you guys like to see perform? Not Madonna, that's for sure. She made exactly two good albums, and she is only in the exalted position she's in because of good marketing, not musical talent. She's about a half-step above Brittney Spears on the quality ladder.
