If you want to see a good NCC / HHS matchup, these 2 teams play on 10/11 at 6pm - Tower Park. Girls varsity soccer district semifinals. Winner takes on the winner of the Brossart/Campbell Co. game for district championship. So there you have it - Highlands and NCC do play each other!

Now that we have that straight. Lets get something else straight. Unless you are Coach Schneider himself or you are breaking bread with him, lol, then you my friend are misinformed. No way, let me repeat myself, no way will NewCath play Highlands as long as Bob has a say so, and yessir Bob has a say so.

 

And what the heck does Spritzky got to do with this debate. That right there my friend is the asinine comment of the yr.

 

Spritzky has been lambasted by many of the Highlands faithful on here. It was a reference to the Dixie wants no part of Highlands thread. Mr. Schneider has gotten the same treatment over the past and the "Bishop Bob" junk was just another shot by you guys. My question was, why do you guys hate opposing coaches so much.

 

As for Coach Schneider and Eddie, again, how close are you to NewCath? All of your information is coming at least from second hand information, probably further down the line then that. Then you spout off here that it is about Mr. Schneider saving NewCath's integrity and community support by avoiding Highlands. So, unless you were on a conference call b/n the ADs of the schools, or b/n Mueller and either Schneider or Eviston, I don't see how you can sit here and say it is because Mr. Schneider says it, so it is. That is an insult to Mr. Schneider, but more it's an insult to Eviston. Have you ever met Eddie? This is his program. Make no mistake about that. What Mr. Schneider did was fantastic and legendary, but that time is at an end. When Eddie and his staff find it best to play Highlands, they'll play Highlands.

How many quarters have each played? Just curious if Hightchew has donned the baseball cp on the sidelines as often as Towles has had to do.

 

Mmm.. I believe that it is close. Both sat for the majority of the second half against Dixie, Towles was out before half time. Hitchew has played a full game against McNick and SK. Towles against Boyle and CovCath. I think the rest are about the same. Play through the first series of the second half for both of them.

The Newcath Ryle game was a very inaccurate showing. The refs made every call in the favor of Ryle. Interceptions throw by Hightchew visibly bounced off the turf and were still called INTs. Newcath had 5 turnovers overall, 3 of which were high snaps. Nice try.

I think in terms of the players, the kids from both schools would love to play eachother every year. It's a natural rivalry because so many kids are from the same areas/gradeschools. And from the time you step foot in either high school, I'm sure its taught right away that "we hate so-and-so, and that's just the way it is, so we must crush them in everything." Which college rivalry is called "Clean, Old Fashioned Hate"? That's what NCC-Highlands is like. When you are in high school, you don't need a reason, it's just good, clean hate (on the athletic field). I also think that year-in and year-out, this game would be much closer than people think. I think Highlands would win 7 of 10, sure, but I also think those 7 wins would be much harder earned than Highlands supporters believe. I think these two teams would compete too hard with eachother, and NCC would use the underdog mentality too effectively, for blowouts to become a common occurence. It would certainly be great entertainment and drama each season.

I do not agree, and again I have no dog in this fight, but I was at this game. If I recall correctly if it wasn't for a couple crucial turnovers and a missed 4th down conversion, NewCath would have been right in this game. Ryle did run the ball well though. I believe the final score was 27-7 but the game was much closer than the final score indicated.

Uhhh.....no they hadn't. I believe Newcath beat Ryle in 2005 and 2008.

Additionally, they have been to 6 state title games since then with 3 more state championships. Finally, last time they played was Lorenzon and Smith's SR. Season, Highlands hasn't gone to a whole new level since then.

I sure hope it gets done. A whole bunch of poop flying here, but the end of the day two programs on the rise. I hope NCC continues its trend in 2A championships and for HHS we will continue the drive for five and hope that NCC is back as a scheduled stop in the near future.

Sure they have when you take the entire 20 or so game span I'm talking about. The year you're talking about was something like 60 to 0. How can anyone think they would now win at 3 times the rate?

700 and under I would call that a small School, now they are closer to 800, Take all the kids that don't live in FT. and the ones that use a FT address you will be back down to 700.
