Lexington Catholic 48 Mercer County 7

I know Coach Rains is a Tony Franklin offense kind of guy but I can't help but wonder what Mercer would look like if they even tried to establish some sort of running game.

Lexington Catholic seems to be able to score. Is their defense anywhere close to being able to slow down Highlands?

I thought the problem last year was they needed to spread the formation and throw the ball more.

I love to see a team pass but I am almost certain they had less than 8 rushing attempts by the end of the 3rd quarter. They made no attempt whatsoever to run the ball. At all.

I don't see highlands stopping this offense

Lexington Catholic quarterback Kyle Bolin threw four touchdown passes, two to David Bouvier, in the Knights' 48-7 victory against visiting Mercer County on Friday.

Lexington Catholic, ranked 16th in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, totaled 203 yards rushing with 84 coming from Marcelis Logan and 83 from Amoh Kumengisa. Both ran for a touchdown and Kumengisa also had a TD reception.

Bolin, a junior quarterback who recently committed to play at Louisville, completed 12 of 19 passes for 145 yards.

I think that the Tony Franklin system has about run its course for most of these coaches just my O.

I couldn't tell. Mercer didn't challenge their defense at all. Ask me again next Saturday after the Boyle/LexCath game.

Really?

LexCath does have another great kicker. He kicked a 44 yard field goal like it was nothing.

Plenty of ways to run The System and have a good run game. It works if you commit to running it too.

Rains has always ran the ball out of the system. Usually 60+% of the

time. But he obviously doesnt know

what he is doing...maybe Mercer should find them somebody better!!! Lol

Who said that? I am one of Rains biggest supporters. He needs time. I simply asked why Mercer made no attempt to establish a running game last night.
