Four times ... state championship games in 1995 and 2002, and semifinals in 2009 and 2010.

 

On the other side, Mayfield is something like 1-7 against Danville ... the Cardinals beat them in the 2002 semifinals but lost to them several times in championship games (87, 89, 91, 92) and at least two or three times in the semifinals.

I wasn't going to bring that up out of respect for the Cardinal fans on here but that has to be the most frustrating series of any because of: 1) What was at stake (State Title in 4 seasons) and 2) How close almost all of those games were. :thumb:

2. 7-3 Danville win in '89 which included a great goal line stand by the Ads.

3. Three point win again for the lads in Blue in '91.

Mayfield and Beechwood are in a series? Wow, I never thought of it that way. I thought of a series as someone you schedule on a fairly regular basis, not the chance that you might meet them in the playoffs. I guess as long as the 1A playoff trend continues it could be construed as a series pretty soon.

Pike Central, Shelby Valley, and East Ridge have never defeated Belfry since their schools formed.

Belfry is currently 17-0 against Pike Central, which is the longest streak for them against any opponent.

 

They are on an 11-0 streak against Pikeville, but the series was almost dead even prior to that run.

 

Belfry won 25 straight against Johnson Central but the Eagles have won the last two, and the record now is 25-2
