How funny, that we're surprised by the score, in that we expected this to be a larger gap....well, some of us did. After Trinity settled down, I felt you could tell that we controlled the game. Rocks have a ton, TON to work on going into Cathedral next week. The better team won, and that's what's supposed to happen.

 

My dad and I talked about this game a lot this week and we both agreed we thought T would win by about two touchdowns. We, for two, are not surprised.

Trinity's defense was the best d on the field. Can't say that too often against a Specht coached team.

I did expect Hundley to have a better game. Not the 200yds like he did last year, but better than how he performed. That is more a compliment to the defense than a knock on him. He is a top notch back who'd I'd love to see in T's backfield.

 

Secondary did not get tested too much tonight. I expect Cathedral and their big QB to provide more of a test downfield.

 

And to clear up any confusion for those that don't know...LSD means Long Slow Drive...I first heard Coverdale use it against Tates Creek in 2001. :taz:

Trinity played St X's game and dominated them. Dominated possession. When they finally committed to running the ball everything started to open up in the 3rd and 4th quarter

Trinity has a very special team. They will "run the table" after this game. The KY state championship game will be a joke.

 

Why did X call a timeout with 3 seconds to go in the 4th qtr, losing 17-7 ? Were they trying to figure out how they were going to score 11 points in 3 seconds ? :lol:

 

I noticed the chain gang did their part when X needed more time , slowly moving the sticks , and directly opposite when T had the ball.

Appeared that Travis Wright missed a few passes that he normally doesn't and a few dumb penalties in 1st half hurt the offense but otherwise it looks like they played well and D was incredible in a hostile environment!

Awesome Trinity team, surprised X kept it it this close.

I know you do...I've read your post long enough to be aware of your knowledge of the game. I was just covering my butt in case someone not knowing desided to tell the KHSAA that all the Rocks have been on drugs.

This was the first time all year that Wright faced some serious pressure. It did seem to have hurt his accuracy. He was not as sharp as he usually was. Couple overthrown balls and some poorly placed balls that could have led to some big gains if right on the money.

Remembering he's a 16 YO junior and I'd have to say he did what he needed for them to win despite the pressure!

I agree. You won't find a bigger supporter of him than me. Just stating some observations from the game. Wouldn't trade him for any QB in the state.

That will be the best defense they see the rest of the year...Trinity will roll the rest of the year. They have the two toughest games left at home with Cathedral and Moeller.

After watching the entire game I came away with the clear impression that Trinity should have won the game by 3+ TDs. They shot themselves in the foot on multiple drives, and got overly aggressive on some others putting themselves in bad d&d situations. X was determined to not give ip the big play to Quick they had him doubled up on most every play. You didn't hear much from Hatcher because he was consistently double teamed. Overall impressive performance by the Rocks.
