Bluesport
I haven't seen a thread about this, nor could I find the online link to it, but it was in the Cincy Enquirer yesterday. Congrats.
NEERFAN
Will he play football for the Falcons? They run the option, could be a good fit.

cshs81
Will he play football for the Falcons? They run the option, could be a good fit. Yes, he will play football. He will spend a year in the AFA Prep School. Before anyone jumps to conclusions about grades, grades were irrelevant. They told Drew no matter what he got on his ACT, he's going to the prep school. Its basically their way of redshirting kids. The prep school plays a full schedule as well. He will then have 4 years of football at the Academy. The starting qb will be a JR next year and a SR when Drew is a Frosh. Drew would then have the opportunity to compete for the starting position in his SOPH year. This is a perfect fit for Drew and the AFA is getting a top-notch young man.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions about grades, grades were irrelevant. Surely no one who got accepted into th Air Force Academy would ever have their grades questioned. Congrats to Drew on his big achievement. I wish him the best of luck. :thumb:

h.s.sportsrbest
I couldn't be happier that Drew (and his family) have settled on this outstanding offer. Covington Catholic is losing a lot more than a QB this year. We are losing a fine young man, a solid kid, and a strong leader. Best of luck in Colorado Springs Drew. The tears you see flowing in Park Hills will be a)from Drew's mom and dad since their boy will be so far away and B)from Drew's mom and dad since paying for college(and spending money) is now taken care of. jpa2825
Congrats. I always heard that AFA had a height restriction which adversely impacted primarily their BBall team. I seem to recall that Ellison was a pretty good-sized kid. Seems to be a disconnect.
