September 12, 201115 yr Author Super Bowl loser slump continues? Perhaps. But, the thing that catches my attention most as a totally unbiased observer of these two teams (I do not particularly like either) is that Baltimore was dominating the playoff game last year prior to the folly of errors that completely swung the game, then they dominate 4 quarters yesterday. Could just be a bad game by the Steelers. We'll see.

September 12, 201115 yr :cry: But seriously, he played better than I thought he would... And actually played well enough to win before special teams collapsed down the stretch. It was 19-17 and the Seahawks had momentum, and then Ted Ginn went crazy. I'm still not confident with him at all, but other than holding on to the ball too long (and too long isn't very long at all with this offensive line) I think he did OK.. And I use that term lightly. Yeah not much you can do there. Seahawks didn't look bad from what I saw. Actually looked pretty decent and played an alright game until they let Ginn Jr. single handedly go he man on them. Looked like he was back at Ohio State or something, he went crazy to end the game. That kind of thing is hard to stop/anticipate/do anything about. Seahawks just got trapped in Hurricane Ginn and it was too late to evacuate.

Suppose Peyton Manning misses the entire season, and the Colts end up being the worst team in the league and get the #1 pick. Do they take Andrew Luck? Or someone else? But, forget the #1 pick. I think it is very possible, based on how much Manning plays, that the Colts could be in a position to draft Luck in next year's draft. Who could be in contention and what would their draft strategy be? Let's rule out a bunch of teams because they'll either be too good, they have their QB of the future, or both. New England, NY Jets, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Houston, Tennessee, Jacksonville, San Diego, Philadelphia, Dallas, NY Giants, Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, New Orleans, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Carolina, St. Louis, Arizona Possibilities, large or small... Buffalo (Fitzpatrick) - Definitely would pick Luck. Miami (Henne) - Depends on what Henne does in 2011. Cleveland (McCoy) - Yes, if McCoy shows he can't cut it. Denver (Orton) - Definitely. Kansas City (Cassel) - Not likely, unless Cassel falls apart and the season is a disaster. Oakland (Campbell) - Definitely Washington (Grossman) - I think so. Seattle (Jackson) - I'd like to think yes, but I'm not so sure given their affection for Jackson. San Francisco (Smith) - Absolutely. Indianapolis (Manning) - ??? What do you think? He has a few more years left, IMO. I would work out deals for picks and players. The Colts could get to a high pick and take Blackmon from OK. St. They could take Burflict. They could take Khalil from USC. They would get at least a #3 and they could take a player from another team.
