Colerain (OH) Coach Confronts St. Xavier (OH) Student Section

Featured Replies

They run the football.

That's what they do.

Now, personally, If I were the coach there ... I would strive for balance.

If you look at Boldens tenure ... And compare it to Coombs last 4-5 ...you may be surprised.

Keep in mind, it took Coombs 10-11 years to win the big one--and they both do it the same way.

The numbers say that Colerain Is the same as they have been.

They are young this year as well.

I disagree slick. They need to pass the ball better. Over the years when a team has been able to defend their run heavy offense they are able to beat the Cards.

I would say they are a contender, they have the ability to beat anyone, but their lack of offensive balance keeps them from being a serious contender 4 out of 5 years or more.

Slick, you're missing the point on Coombs, HE BUILT COLERAIN. Bolden's job is to not mess it up.

Nonsense.

We definitely agree to disagree CF!

279 views more than likely. There is interest from KY HS fans especially ones that live just across the river like us.

Sorry your Cards have suffered through the Davis injury and the loss to St. X. I cant stand St. X so I wish you guys would have won FWIW.

Because Colerain has an excellent football program, their coach is colorful to say the least, there was a lot of hype about Ryle and Colerain here at BGP, and anytime there is controversy it sells...

You "opinion" is wrong.

Colerain is in the mix every year.

They are in the mix right now.

They will continue to be in the mix every year.

That isn't opinion ... It is fact.

As far as calling Bolden a clown ....that is your "opinion"

It is an incorrect, uninformed and down right wrong ...

But hey ... It is your opinion.

Colerain is in the mix of making the playoffs every year, but that doesn't make them a serious contender for a State Title. Actually they didn't even make the playoffs a couple seasons ago and in my opinion they will be in jeopardy of not making the playoffs this year.

My opinions are based as a Colerain fan. I am married to a Colerain alum. We have friends who children are current as well as former players for Colerain. Finally, I have a family member who is personal friends with the Bolden brothers. I may be an idiot but I am not an idiot who sits behind a keyboard and just fabricates uneducated opinions. There are many among the Colerain faithful who have the same opinion of Bolden as I.

Maybe silly to you' date=' but I think it's very disrespectful. This will have consequences that extend beyond friday night[/quote']

Such as?

Let's just say that I applaud Colerain's coach for standing up to such blatant ignorance. And I do not mean that in any derogatory way towards the St. X program in general. I'm sure the kids will get a serious "talking to" about it. We do have to keep in mind that we're talking about teenagers.

Which of these do you believe to be true?

Colerain students truly believe the X boys are gay.

X students truly believe that God is only in their lives and not Colerain?

Saying "We have girls" may imply that the St. X boys are Gay but it doesnt go as far as the St. X fans go with implying that they are only privy to have God in their lives.

I will say that maybe Bolden shouldnt have gotten involved but the St. X Administrators should address the chant as should the Colerain Adminnistrators. There is no place for that kind of stuff in HS sports. I know they are teenagers but there are adults and children at these games also and the kids are very impressionable.

It "may" imply?

No reason for the opposing school's head coach to confront kids. Take it to Coach Specht.

Correct, if I heard that it would mean they are lucky enough to have girls. That is how I would take it. If they said "Soap on a rope" then I may say they are implying the boys are gay.

Bolden made a donkey of himself in front of everyone by doing that. He should have saved it for after the game or went to Specht at that moment so it could be addressed by St. X administrators. I will agree there.
