imsosilly
This shows the gap between KY public school football and all the other states south of us. Our good public teams and their good public teams aren't even in the same category.

I think Byrnes would make a lot of teams look bad. Does it really matter where Byrnes opponents are from ?
hoosierbirdfan
Is Ballard in rebuilding mode? Isnt Byrnes one of the top ranked programs in the country? I'm too lazy to look them up , but I think they are ranked number two in the country.
tcjkbt
Running clock from about 3 minutes left in the first half. I don't know exactly why Ballard thought it would be in their best interest to schedule this team.

Ballard doesn't want to schedule Trinity , but they have to because they are in the same district. So they schedule Byrnes , what's up with that ? WOW !!!! Where was this game played ? (Not that it matters )

imsosilly
Ask anyone that knows anything about high school football and they will tell you everyone south of us plays football at a much higher level at the public school level. If you aren't willing to accept that, then you haven't followed much football. Check out the last time Bell County played a good TN team two years ago. Bell lost 42-14 before running off 12 straight wins, most of which were in the 40-60 point range against KY opponents. Look at the rosters of the best SEC teams. Loaded with players from the south, none of which are usually from KY. We play competitive football in this state, but we are lagging way behind the southern states. Ballard may be down this year, but they still have a very large enrollment and are known for having one of the best public school athletic programs in our state. I don't know exactly why Ballard thought it would be in their best interest to schedule this team. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there was actually another team scheduled in this slot and Byrnes was a late fill-in when that school backed out. I could be wrong. gchs_uk9
Is Ballard really considered good? That was my thought. Ballard has been really good the last couple of years but I was thinking this was a step-back year.
JCVD
I think most of us saw this coming. The score really could have been much worse. Tough for Ballard to even turn this game in to a learning experience IMO.
