If you feel the need to make the BGP crowd aware of the "best baseball" that's great. August 16, 201115 yr Isn't that part of the problem? A few folks didn't like how LL was run, so they went off and formed their own league? Why can't there be an all-encompassing league? Not a problem. No problem with LL either, it is what it is. The more leagues, associations, etc.. the better. It provides more opportunities for more kids. All-encompassing leaugue? Parents will take their children to whichever league or association that best suits them and more power to them.

My 8yr old plays on 65ft bases and 44ft pitching..Come on Man!!!Although a somewhat harsh observation, I do understand where you are coming from as a "travel ball" parent myself. My oldest played in the SWOL for 8 years and love it.
August 16, 201115 yr This is awesome for those kids, rooting for them the entire way. We have played everything from parks and rec all the way to College baseball, including little league . Without a doubt either coach pitch or the actual little league tournament was the most exciting. In my opinion as long as we have kids playing baseball thats a good thing regardless of where it is!

Your probably right about being a little harsh. There is a sports blog for Ohio (_appi) that always has blow hards on there about how LL is so good. It gets irritating when people have no clue what they are talking about..LL is fine for rec baseball, but it is by far not the best kids playing the best baseball at that age..There are probably 1 or 2 kids on the Hamilton and La Grange LL All-Star Teams that could play on the upper two teams in the SWOL. But people act like the LL teams are the best teams around and there simply not..A few years ago the LL team from Hamilton that went to the LL WS played in the SWOL the next year and got beat up pretty good. I mean you can't even leadoff.....or dropped third strikes..COME ON MAN!!

I remember in '02 it was an absolute blast following the Louisville team to the championship.

I will use your words......C'mon man! This is Little League baseball and no kids league that gets kids playing ball is a "joke". Little League at one time was the league for that age group of kids. I realize that there are now many other leagues for that age group with different rules, regulations and those are probably more popular in some if not most places. I personally am not so sure that these other leagues that are more "avanced" as some would call them are better for a 11/12 yr. old kids in the long run. Too many people (and I am not singling out any one person) think that there child is so above certain levels of play that they imo want them to play in another league for their (parents) pride and not the kids best interest. I have no idea on any studies,stats,etc. as to if there are more injuries to undeveloped arms throwing at those longer distances or not but I think that there may be more problems like that as opposed to little league reglations. That discussion/comparison is probably for another thread though. What I am saying is these are 12yr. old kids!Be happy for them, congratulate them on their accomplishments and wiosh the well in the LLWS. Putting down a league/rules that a kid plays under is imo not promoting the kid in any way and after all.......it's about the kids!! Congrats to the LaGrange,KY. Little League kids and I hope that you go all the way! (BTW- There are MLB players today that played Little League Baseball under these "Joke" distances and regulations. Seems to me that they turned out o.k. and they were'nt hurt by those "joke" distances .)
