August 9, 201115 yr Author Whats going on with Shipley behind Caldwell? When the Bengals have 3 WR's on the field I want Simpson, Green, and Shipley. He can catch the ball and will take hits over the middle. Is he having an awful camp? What has Caldwell done to improve to be #2? Anyone take the trip to camp and have any insight?

That is for the X, and Z receiver positions. Which Simpson, and Green are the starters for it and Caldwell backs up Green's position, and Cosby backs up Simpson's position on the depth chart. In the season most likely Caldwell will be the 4th receiver and be the main back up for the X and Z spots. When they do go 3 receiver sets, it will be Shipley in the slot you don't have to worry about that. The slot is still definitely Shipleys.
August 9, 201115 yr Those Cincy will throw Andy straight into the fire? It looks like it. However they do have the benefit of an easy schedule to start the year. I don't think they even see Pittsburgh or Baltimore until after week 8. So by the time he see's those defenses, he should have at least half a season under his belt and maybe some confidence depending on how well they did early.
August 9, 201115 yr ESPN has the Bengals ranked #32 out of 32 in their preseason power rankings. What do they know. At least 29 or 30.
August 9, 201115 yr ESPN has the Bengals ranked #32 out of 32 in their preseason power rankings. Isn't that 100%!!! Hey there is something to be excited about in Cincy!!!
August 10, 201115 yr Isn't that 100%!!! Hey there is something to be excited about in Cincy!!! They had the Bengals in the top 15 last year, and might have even been top 10 before the start of last season I believe. So ranking's before the season really mean nothing, especially in the NFL.

August 10, 201115 yr I'd say they are much closer this season in predicting the Bengals rank than they were last season. The last two seasons they have been way off on the Bengals. 2009 they had the Bengals as one of the last teams, and by the end of the season they were a top 10 team and a playoff team. 2010 obviously went the other way, so for the last two seasons this preseason rankings have ended up being way wrong on the Bengals. Hopefully the streak continues this year.
August 11, 201115 yr I dont care what the rankings say this isnt the worst team in the NFL, Id bet good money on that one. They will not have the #1 pick in the draft next year. They probably the most poorly ran franchise in the league no doubt but this team will finish ahead of other teams in the league. Hell they may not even finish last in the division.

They probably the most poorly ran franchise in the league no doubt but this team will finish ahead of other teams in the league. Hell they may not even finish last in the division. They really do have talent. I know people are down on Palmer, but he did know how to win in this division and at the end of games. With Palmer this year, they could have had a really good year. However without him the QB spot is a big question mark, especially against the Ravens and Steelers 4 times this year. If Dalton can do even a decent job, they can have some success. However the national media looks and see's that the Bengals lost Chad, TO, and Palmer and think they won't do well now. The media doesn't look closely at the Bengals, except if they have arrest. They don't see that this team does have a lot of talent, the biggest question mark is QB. Which is a big question mark, cause obviously if the QB spot plays bad this year then the rest of the young talent means nothing. They fail to see that there is plent of young talent here to do well, just depends on how well Dalton does.
