None. It's a pure head to head game of quality programs. And, I don't give any credit to Trinity for size. Both think they are the number one team in the state, so I see it as time to prove it.

I think a better question would be "What advantages does Highlands have over Trinity"? I think we can all agree that these two schools are the class of football in Kentucky. How can a small public school like Highlands dominate in a fashion like a Trinity who has all the noted advantages?

That really isn't the point of the thread bug. I am sure many of you have figured it out, for those of you that haven't figured it out, Trinity doesn't have any advantages over Highlands (weight room, field, numbers, etc. -- Highlands can always expand/build up) and therefore Trinity doesn't have any advantages over any other public school.

What advantages Bugs? There are only perceived advantages. No one state a real, something you can touch advantage. The "private" argument is not real. The simple fact is: with open enrollment, there is no private advantage. The field is equal.

You keep talking about private and public, Highland has kids that pay to go to School there, they are out of the city I think it is about 2400.00 to go there.

The title of this thread assumes that in a given year, Highlands' team is just as good as Trinity. I don't know if that's the case because of my limited exposure to both programs. If that's the case, it speaks volumes about Highlands' program.

 

Trinity does have some advantages, primarily its enrollment and the number of players in the program. There aren't any public school programs in this state that have 200 kids participating in football, like Trinity and St. Xavier do.

 

And I wouldn't be quick to consider Highlands as a typical public school. Highlands' environment lends itself to maintaining a powerful football program, and that's nothing but a compliment to the Bluebirds.

Have you seen the Rocky movies? Or Pumping Iron? Nicer? Maybe. Better? Not necessarily.

Come one Clyde. You're arguing that a school that is much smaller is at a disadvantage because they have to take a small number of students that live in their district? How does that hurt their football program? I haven't heard of Highlands having to turn away an All State RB because there wasn't room.
