4. Belfry

5. Mason County

6. Sheldon Clark

7. Corbin

8. Fort Campbell

9. Lawrence County

10. Breathitt County

I think Mason Co may be a little low and based on what Lawrence Co has done the past couple of years in 4a, I have to think they may be a little under rated, as well..

Lawrence Co lost most of their coaching staff - that will change things there, IMO.

Lawrence County lost to Sheldon Clark last year and has apparently lost a key player to a torn ACL.

That is a pretty fair preseason top 10 list.

I bet Bell County is glad they don't have Boyle County to contend with in the playoffs this season.

Can't wait to see FC at Paducah Tilghman!

Perhaps so, but the road isn't any easier this year. First, there's Corbin in their district. Second, there's Louisville Central in their region and Bell County will have to win in Louisville. Third, there's Paducah Tilghman in their semi-state and Bell County will have to win all the way across the state in order to make the state finals. So while Bell County will certainly be good, the road to a championship is going to be very difficult.

Yes it is. All ways has been there used to be Highlands, Boyle and many others but doesn't make any difference to Bell County will be ready for the challenge,

Who is the lost player? Just curious.

A pretty good running back, as I am told.

I heard the big OL player Combs I think is the 1 hurt?? Hopefully not season ending.

Lawrence has had some good records but to be totally honest have played nobody to amass those wins.

That could be said for many schools across the state if we really disected each team and their opponents records. Lawrence County's just seems to stand out more because they went from 1-10, 0-11 to 12-1, 10-2 (or whatever) in what seemed like an overnight transformation.

I'll guess that Russell will win their district. And they beat Sheldon Clark at their place last year in the playoffs. And they return quite alot. I will venture a guess that if you revisit this in October, you'll see Russell in there.

I disagree.

I'm from Lawrence County and I'm happy with that ranking. Just being in the top 10 shows that people are showing some respect and everything after that has to be earned on the field. That's exactly how we like it in Lawrence County. :D

Don't count out Mason Co just yet!:D
