Cozart is on his way. It's about time.

Just saw that....Put him in the 2 hole the next 4 days and let's see what he can do.

^ He may end up not panning out right away, but I've want this to happen because they need a change. Something had to happen.

Looks like the Reds may catch a break....Braun appears to be questionable due to his calf issue. He's already missed 4 in a row.

Yonder just tweet a congrats to Cozart so I would say it is official.

Is Janish being sent out?

Renteria DFA.

Is that official? ER had actually shown some signs of swinging a better bat.

Chapman looked very good last night in a pressure situation. 9 of his 13 pitches were strikes. After getting a ground out, he gave up a seeing eye single. Came back to strike out the next two. Jay watched a 100mph fastball split the plate in two to end the game. As the game ended, Chapman pumped his fist and ran toward the Reds' dugout. Hernandez had to redirect him to the post game lineup behind the mound. Losing the 8-0 lead was painful, but the Reds played well from the 9th through the 13th. It was the type of game the Reds have lost in bunches this year.

John Fay is now reporting that Cozart has checked into the Reds team hotel.

With a lefty on the mound, I'm thinking we see a lineup of:

Heisey CF

Cozart SS

Votto 1B

Phillips 2B

Bruce RF

Rolen 3B

Gomes LF

Hernandez C

Bailey P

Since opening day last year: Cordero 84% (57 of 68)/Rivera 86% (54-63).

There should be less angst for Cordero and more appreciation.

I figure that appreciation will come in 2012 when he's not here....and the Reds closer is not saving 85% of the games.

I know everybody has been wondering where my negative posts have been during this last week of despair. I am still alive but have been kind of busy but paying some attention from afar and trying not to add anymore negativity to the fray. A name I'd like to throw in the mix for closer for 2012 is Bradley Boxberger, the 2009 Compensation draft pick and # 43 overall. I just noticed that he has been called up to Louisville and is continuing the gawdy numbers that he was displaying @ Carolina. I didn't know that he was pitching in relief but he sure has some eye-popping numbers for 2011; 17 hits allowed over 39 innings with 15 BBs and 62 Ks and a 1.15 era with batting average allowed of only .131. I thought they were planning to use him as a starter but it sure appears they are grooming him to work from the bullpen. Even though he only has a handful of saves he sure has closer type numbers. Could the Red's possibly consider him to replace CoCo next year? Does anybody know anything about him from that standpoint?

Reds promote IF Zack Cozart and RHP Carlos Fisher, option IF Paul Janish and RHP Edinson Volquez.

Janish and Volquez optioned to Louisville.... Cozart and Fisher up with the big boys.

Would be a complete shock if anyone but Masset is the closer next season IMO.
