July 12, 201115 yr we must have watched different games...in the first two innings he looked flat, then he picked it up with a 91 mph fb that was moving and his nasty slider and what looked like a nasty soft curve...He made a filthy pitch to Fielder...Also keep in mind he wasn't on his normal schedule which is why he started out rusty...Willis>EV just based on his hitting and emotion, ill gladly take him as my number 5 at least he is entertaining and I think he can keep at least an era in the 3.5 to 4 range... His stuff wasn't moving enough for a 91 mph fastball to get it done....Arroyo's offspeed pitches move more than that and he throws harder than 91--how has he done this year? Would you care to make an avatar bet on Willis finishing the year with less than a 4.00 ERA in at least 80 IP? He threw 97 pitches in 6 innings, he was nothing special at all. Carlos Zambrano can hit and is very emotional, he throws harder than 91, you want him on your team?

You said he was asked to replace Polanco. I watched the Braves game Saturday on Fox and they said Rolen replaced Chipper who was the players vote because he was the next highest available player from the players vote. The announcers specifically mentioned that Ramirez deserved it and one of the reporters said Bochy didn't get to replace a players vote and that they go next highest players vote. They explained the manager repalces fans picks and his picks. All in all it isn't a big deal, but that was the explanation given during the game.
