Which OSU-related Lie Was Bigger Today?

Featured Replies

Two head-scratchers today.

The new OSU coach said he had no clue as to what was going on in regards to players and illegal benefits.

Later, Drew Rosenhaus said T Pryor will be a first-round pick in the supplemental draft and has "proven" that he's a 1st-round pick.

Both of them seem like doozies to me.

I don't for one second believe either of them...Fickel's is MUCH bigger though. Drew is just doing his job.

Agreed.

When I first read the new coach's statement in the newspaper, I thought to myself, Who is advising these people? It strains credulity.

Both are crazy. I think Rosenhaus' lie was bigger. I think there is a better chance that Fickel had no clue about what was going on at OSU than Pryor does of being a first round pick in the supplemental draft.

His job is to lie to his client?

Rosenhaus is just being Rosenhaus, and trying to promote his player. For those that are critical of Fickel, I ask, what would you really expect him to say? Seriously. Even if he did know, do you really expect him, or anyone in that position (named interim head coach) to say he knew what was going on, and not report it also?!? The ONLY way you could have somebody say that, is if they were brought in from the outside. Anybody on the existing staff, no matter how trustworthy or credible beforehand, is going to have the shadow of doubt follow them around.

So you think some NFL team's scouting department and GM is going to be influenced by Rosenhaus?

Mike Brown is the king of "scratch and dent" sale acquisition of players. I would not be surprised to see the Bengals take the plunge if Pryor is available in the 7th round. It isn't like the they have Johnny U waiting to back up Andy Dalton.

Not for one second but egos like Pryor like to hear positive things said about them. Greg Cossel didnt' have good things to say about TP.

As we chronicled the other day, Greg Cosell, executive producer of Edge NFL Matchup on ESPN and Senior Producer of NFL Films has been watching film of now former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor to assess his chances to play in the NFL. He’s now watched four of his games. Here’s his assessment in a series of tweets. gregcosell Major difference between Pryor + Newton is Newton can throw. Big arm, drives the ball. Newton can make NFL throws, Pryor at this point can’t gregcosell More Pryor: For those who equate athleticism with QB he’s a draftable player. I evaluated him w/late round/free agent grade. No NFL skills. gregcosell More Pryor: Many issues that need major work. 2 are average arm strength + erratic accuracy. Little velocity. Can’t drive ball. Poor passer. gregcosell More Pryor: Those who equate body athleticism to QB skills + tools will see positives. Those who see NFL QB as a craft will not see much. Cosell also said that Pryor’s best situat...

Where is everyone seeing that Fickell knew about all of this? I guess I must have missed that report! This guy is being put in a very difficult situation and has so far handled it very well. I will not be the least bit suprised if he is named head coach after this year. Everyone says he needs to win 10 or more games this year to have a shot at the job and with the talent this team has they have a chance to win every game. They have as much, if not more, talent than any team on their schedule.

OSU has more talent than anyone in the Big 10. But, with all the crap going around and probably starting a frosh QB (I would imagine) I see no way they don't lose 3-4 games. I could see a bottom-feeder or two sneaking up and getting them.

His job is to promote his player. This isn't just a TP thing, most agents are overselling their clients leading up to drafts...he is just a bit more over the top than most.

I see no way this team loses 3 or 4 games. From reading the players comments and tweets, this team has an us against the world attitude. I look for the offense to be more aggressive this year, which will be different from the philosophy from the past nine years which was for the offense to not put the defense in a bad spot.

Lost his starting QB for the season, starting Tackle, WR, RB, for five games. Lost 2 coaches who were calling offensive plays, have a coach on the staff he doesn't agree with on recruiting philosophy. I'll take 6 or 7 wins and start rebuilding the ship, the new coaches way.
