June 8, 201115 yr I'm so sick of hearing about Janish's defense. He's not any better than your everyday average SS. Vastly overrated glove.

June 8, 201115 yr I'm so sick of hearing about Janish's defense. He's not any better than your everyday average SS. Vastly overrated glove. Not to mention his range isn't that great. What happened?
June 8, 201115 yr Not to mention his range isn't that great. What happened? Are you asking today, or in general (what happened to his D?) He made an error on a routine play. Would've been two outs and none on, instead after a base hit Rameriz hit a bomb.
June 8, 201115 yr I think Lewis held up. Now he's in pout mode in the dugout. It's gonna be one of those days.

June 8, 201115 yr I think Lewis held up. Now he's in pout mode in the dugout. It's gonna be one of those days. He's another one that I'm still trying to find a single logical explanation as to why he's on the team and am drawing a blank. Gomes Renteria Lewis Janish (wouldn't be a bad 1-2x a week guy) Not sure why those guys are on the big league roster, let alone playing. I think Gomes is probably the most deserving of the 4.
June 8, 201115 yr From Redsminorleagues.com... Is there a hotter hitter in the system than Zack Cozart right now? He is hitting .488/.511/.837 over his last 10 games and .378 since May began. Of course there is a hotter hitter than Zack Cozart right now and it is teammate Devin Mesoraco who is now hitting .330/.415/.553 on the season and .472/.548/.861 in his last 10 games. Jeremy Hermida continues to rake, now up to .356 on the season. Cozart is hitting. 315 with 20 Doubles, 1 Triple, 6 Hrs and 5 steals...Last year he hit 30 Doubles, 4 Triples, 17 Hrs, 67 RBI and 30 steals...He has more power, more speed he bats leadoff and is equally as good defensively than Janish...I know these number may not translate and Dusty doesn't like AAA guys but imo he would should get a chance...He's also 3 years younger and Janish has had more than enough opportunity...
June 8, 201115 yr Through 5 innings the Reds have hit a grand total of 3 balls out of the infield, all 3 being their 3 hits. They're facing Ryan FREAKING Dempster of the over 6 ERA for goodness sakes.

June 8, 201115 yr Not shocking the current groups of Reds have a batting average of .222 VS him. 37 of 167 That might be the most embarrassing stat I've heard in a long time. How can a team as good as the Reds are offensively be so inept against one of the worst pitchers in baseball....:idunno:
June 8, 201115 yr ^ And you have a few guys in the minors tearing the cover off the ball. Amen to that...Alonso, Cozart, Francisco, Hermida and Mesoraco are on fire right now and imo have the abilities to do it all year its no fluke...And minor leaguer of the year Dave Sappelt is getting really close to returning...Big shakeups need to take place...I would bring up Alonso for Gomes and Hermida for Lewis...Cozart up for Janish and Francisco for Renteria...You then start Alonso in LF on most days and let Heisey and Hermida fill in now and then, Heisey can play all 3 OF positions and Hermida can play the Corners...Then Francisco can play for Rolen and even fill in in LF or 1b if need be...Cozart starts almost everyday at SS and when he doesn't, move BP to SS and put Cairo at 2b (guys used to play everywhere they weren't specialized, BP could fill in sporadicly at SS, Barney is doing it for the Cubs it can be done) or even put Cairo at SS for a day can't be worse than Edgar...Alonso can also fill in at 1b...With this you also add 2 more left handed bats to the team in Alonso and Francisco, Hermida just replaces Lewis...Alot more potential, youth and versatility with these moves...But they will never happen, I would love to run a team, maybe some day:D Edited June 8, 201115 yr by nkufan23
