Any dog when on a leash in public should also have pinch collar on, especially big dogs. If your dog is too big for you to control when on a leash then use the proper equipment to keep them under control.

 

Sorry to hear about Lucky RM. You shouldn't have to worry about dogs on leashes attacking your dog or even you.

I am sorry I have been away for a while. I hope Lucky is doing better?!!!

When I left this morning for work, I felt a lot better about him. Last night he continued his mopey ways, and refused to eat. So, I didn't give him a pain pill last night. This morning, he had a bit of energy, and spring in his step, and he ate! I did give him another pain pill before I left this morning, but after speaking to the vet today, we decided it would probably be better for him to eat than finish the pain medication. So, I'll give it to him on an "as needed" basis. The bruising is beginning to heal on his underbelly, and the puncture wound doesn't appear to be getting infected. The two places where he's been stitched appear to be healing ok, but I may swing by the vet just to have them look and make sure.

 

But the big thing is that after 4 days, he finally ate! That makes Lucky's momma happy!

Well, we've been going on short walks since Sunday night. He won't go to the bathroom unless I take him for a walk. And he won't come out from under the bed or chair (whichever is the choice for that moment), unless I ask him if he wants to go for a walk. The vet wants to limit his activity, so we're only going as far as it takes for him to relieve himself thoroughly, and then back home. And we walk very slowly. I think they want us to wait until they take the stitches out and evaluate him before the release him for hiking in the woods like we like to do.
