Track the NL Central Champion Reds (Memorial Day Weekend)

No one really came out and trashed the Sox and since Boston was at least beating the Yankees I wasn't too concerned...I just stayed in the background. I think UKMF might be a bandwagon fan period--lol. I've watched a lot of Reds games while watching the Sox on my laptop and I really am concerned with their pitching...They are a .500 ballclub right now, that isn't a fluke.

How can a Reds fan not be concerned about their pitching. Volquez needs a sports psychologist, Bailey and Arroyo are injured, and Wood is too inconsistent. The bullpen has been great, but how long can they keep it up when they continue to get overworked. Rolen is old and injured, and probably playing at about 70 % at best, and there is little to no production from LF and SS. Other than that, I like their chances.

Volquez made his 1st start of the Bats tonight. He went 7 2/3, 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR.

I'm hearing Lecure to the DL...Not many arms left in AAA, I hope they reach down to AA and snatch Brad Boxberger...The kid has been lights out and has electric stuff...Closer of the futrue...17 gms, 1.31 ERA, 20.2 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 1 HR, 9 BB, 35 Ks...I believe he is ready, big kid with big time college pitching experience and a 1st round pick...

No, just let Fisher's arm rot off before you bring Co Co in, but hey, at least he should be fresh tomorrow to pitch an inning when Jurgens is blanking the Reds.

Ain't that the truth. It's awfully hard to figure Dusty out when it comes to the way he handles the bullpen. I know right now he has the toughest job in baseball with that given the poor performances by his starting staff. Personally I don't like the way they prepared the starters for the start of the season especially when you had a good idea who they were going to be, but that's my opinion.

They have little choice but to bring EV back up for his next start. I just hope that a week and a half down there cleared his almost empty head out.

Looks like Reineke will get the call on Tuesday. He started on the 27th but they pulled him after 2 innings and 35 pitches probably on orders from the big club. Somehow they'll have to make room for him on the 40 man.

I think they have to go with Jordan Smith to replace Lecure.

As to the 40 man roster if they call up Reineke, my guess is they create the opening by letting Hermida go and try to resign him back to the minors. He will surely look to hook up with another team.

Somebody will definitley pick up Hermida he has been raking in AAA...

The 2011 version of the Memorial Day/4th of July/Sept 11th hat...Very similar to last years I always like these hats though...I like the patriotism...pMLB2-9772627dt.jpg

Reds to call up LHRP Tom Cochran from AAA...

So, I miss one game to go watch a friend race his sprint car and I get hermied. That's cool. At least Hermie is passionate.

Stubbs 8, Phillips 4, Votto 3, Rolen 5, Bruce 9, Lewis 7, Hernandez 2, Janish 6, Cueto 1

Too bad Gomes didn't have a good game yesterday.

Which means little ... Hermida hasn't had a productive season since 2007. One hot month in Triple-A isn't going to change many, if any, organizations' view of his worth.

Looks like Dusty is never going to play the same player in LF two nights in a row.

I posted this before the Reds started their current roadtrip.

I'm going to go ahead and call a 2-8 roadtrip for the Reds. They come limping home in 3rd place 5.5 games behind the Cardinals and 3 games behind the Brewers.

Don't see anybody making fun of my predictions now. Only reason I missed by a half game on both the Cardinals and Brewers is because I didn't realize they both had a day off when the Reds played. The Reds won't get any higher than 3rd place the rest of the year.:lol::dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
